Don't think it gets made. If it does get made, 1 of the belts will be stripped within 60 days anyway. This kind of thing could put the Parker braintrust on real thin ice. No way in the world Parker wants to take chump change when all the big money in the division goes to AJ. And will continue to go to him. In the interim, he sits on the sidelines waiting for his big payday. How long before he starts to think maybe his current team can not land the big fight for him & it's time to move on?
At the end of the day I hope Joseph Parker ends up undisputed champ. Neither Joshua nor Wilder have done anything to prove they are in any way superior to him. Both are 99% HYPE!!Neither really wants to fight Parker I think I can see why. !!!!! WAR PARKER !!!!!
If Joshua-Parker isn't made, Parker will fight Lucas Browne followed his mandatory with Povetkin. The Browne fight will be a reasonable payday. The Povetkin fight, which Parker will likely have to travel for, will be his biggest payday to date by a long margin.
Yeah Parker has some decent options but the danger is he loses to either Browne or Povetkin and loses out on the big pay day from Joshua. Browne surprised a lot of people against Chagaev, he learned to box a bit while training with the Fury's and he obviously has the one punch power to turn fights around as he did with Chagaev. Parker has to be a the favourite but Brown has a chance if he can land a bomb. Povetkin is a very tough prospect indeed, in fact I favour Povetkin to break him down and stop him. If Ruiz Jr could do as well as he did, Povetkin might be too much for Parker right now. It's a big risk to walk away because that big payday might not be there a couple of fights down the line.
It would make Hearn and Joshua's pathetic claims that Parker is trying to sell his title look pretty stupid too.
This. Miller gets away with absorbing shots and standing in front of opponents because he hasn't faced a puncher yet. I have a hard time believing Miller can bully Joshua, which is the only thing Miller is good at or take the punishment that Joshua will dish out.
Yeah I see Jarrell Miller the way you and Brighton Bomber do. I'd actually like to see Miller fight Bermane Stiverne next. I know nobody wants tune into so much as an interview with Stiverne but I think Miller is around that level.
Joshua wants all of the money! Parker wants to fight Joshua, has a chance to win that fight if his chin is as good as Tua's was, have heard it is, if so, will be a damned good fight if the ref is not crooked..................Wilder will never fight Joshua or Parker,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Wilder stays away from anyone who can fight back!
Yeah that's fair to me. Joshua has 2 belts so gets 2/3 and Parker has 1 belt so gets 1/3. Personally I still think this gets made, it's just a final stand off to see who blinks first to get the final few percent your way.
Well he said Parker deserves more than 25% and personally I think even a 75/25 split for Parker is pretty generous when you consider the disparity in earnings. A 25% split for Parker would dwarf any previous pay he's had. Hearn obviously isn't trying to low ball Parker like Bowe did to Lewis with his stupid 90/10 split demand. He hasn't stuck to his original 80/20 split that was thrown out in the media and Higgins himself said Hearns had upped his original offer so he has shown some movement in regards to getting this fight made. Hearn said he would have to over pay Parker which it seems like he is doing if we read between the lines but I think even he will only move so far to get this fight made. Question is will he go high enough for Parker and if not then this fight won't happen at all until one of them concedes.
Hearn should just give the man 35%, or a third at least. I don't see why not. All this stuff about "over paying" is mostly nonsense. This is a heavyweight unification match. If boxers were required to accept any offer above their current "pay scale", none of them would even progress beyond amateurs. It's a nonsensical argument. Mandatory challengers are supposed to get 30% at least. It's a bit crazy to say Joseph Parker should be entitled to no more than that. He holds a belt. Then again, has Joshua ever even faced a mandatory challenger yet ? Joshua's been a title-holder less than 2 years. It's deluded to compare him to Mayweather etc. just yet. Wins over men like Parker are necessary to legitimize him and being unified champion would turn him into a true global megastar. Otherwise, I fear he's just going to regress to being a souped-up version of Calzaghe, battling bums of the month in his own backyard for eternity. Providing he doesn't lose to a bum of the month. Parker obviously wants the fight. He just doesn't want to be paid LESS THAN HALF of what the other guy gets. Also, I'm fairly sure they will have a ONE WAY rematch clause in this fight, ie. IF Joshua loses he gets a rematch, if Parker loses there's no rematch.
