Seems entirely plausible that it will earn a HUGE amount of attention in NZ and Australia alone, and a lot of UK boxing fans will probably be pretty interested in it too.
I'm an Aussie and I doubt many will care but I could be wrong. Lucas is probably better known in the UK than here. Zero casuals will be interested in this in Australia unless there is media saturation before the fight(which I doubt).
which will make it to a trilogy first? joshua-whyte or wilder-stiverne? at least give a new bum a shot.
I can't remember Australia ever hosting a world heavyweight title fight. Certainly none with an Australian involved. So if Parker-Browne was held in sports mad Melbourne and promoted well it would probably sell out.
Fair enough I can see like a boss and Kiwi_in_America's points about it being a NZ vs Oz WT fight it might sell well with good promotion. Not a fight I would care about but the fact they're both undefeated doesn't hurt either.
Maybe? Of course the first world heavyweight title fight held in Australia would sell well. Particularly with an Aussie involved, and whether you care about it or not is irrelevant.
Hell, 35% is more than fair. Joshua does not want to fight Parker for some reason..............have heard Parker has a chin like Tua, if so, I can understand why. Wilder wants 50%, so Joshua will have to go on fighting nobodies....................Fury is not ready yet and we all know Fury will want and get 50% for sure..................Wilder will get knocked out if he fights a legit fighter, but instead he will fight Breazeale another Haymon fighter who can't fight at all, already been knocked out by Joshua!
but due to timezones it would take place live in the uk about 10 to 11am in the morning so would only be a delayed fight which would not gemerate much uk tv money at all same problem with usa middle of the night fight there. it will be down to australasia market to make money / i dont think promoters will make much but who cares about them
Fury won't get 50/50 for Joshua, he isn't a big enough draw by himself, he wasn't getting 50/50 for the Wlad rematch and he beat Wlad and Wlad wasn't a big a draw as Joshua. Fury was getting a 67/33 split for the rematch. He'll get something similar or maybe 60/40 at the very best.
Hearn said that Fury/Joshua will be the biggest fight in UK history! They are both huge draws in the UK. It will be the biggest payday for both, too much money for Joshua to turn down..............believe me, Fury is well known in UK...................that is the fight they want to see..............
He's well known but not loved and was never a big draw. Boxnation pulling out of Fury/Wlad made it clear that even when challenging the biggest name on the planet in regards to heavyweight boxing that wasn't enough to draw the number of UK fans you would expect when a Brit challenges for the heavyweight world title. The Fury brand as a whole is seen as too unpredictable they've pulled out of fights way too often for people to risk stumping up the cash to watch them. Fury/Parker was a financial disaster it was on youtube for christ sake and more people watched it live on facebook for free than paid for the fight, the arena too was half empty. Over the years too many have lost money on tickets, hotels, travel costs etc on cancelled Fury fights, that has an effect on what you can draw further down the line. Yes the fight will be huge, it's the biggest fight available for Joshua in terms of finances but that's because people will pay to see Joshua fight his biggest threat not because Fury is bringing a horde of fans. Fury wouldn't make any where near as much against anyone else. He'd make peanuts in comparison if he fought Wilder or Parker. Even a fight with Haye who still draws well would likely see him make less than the £5 mill he would have when they were originally meant to fight.
