I've got DW tko/ko 100% of the time. How so many miss the ruthlessnees and scary speed, power and timing. The only way DW could lose is by stoppage and we know for certain Parker couldn't ever stop DW. Many need to put the pipe down ASAP
If he had beaten Wilder first, probably could have doubled that — two belts vs. two belts, better bargaining position. He took the short angle, which makes me think his people weren’t confident that he would beat Wilder.
Once again ppl are taking what Joshua does and thinking it applies to other fighters. There's NO way I'm putting Parker over Wilder even if he gives up rounds over Wilder. For one Parker won't be fighting off the back foot much against Wilder, he will come forward and this will create openings. Joshua is a completely different fighter to adjust too.( he couldn't) ....Its a far harder fight for Wilder but I think he would stop Parker if not out point him. I think Parker's next few fights will tell more but I have little doubt Wilder would let that right hand go...as Joshua would in a rematch. I don't think Parker will have the skills to tag Wilder in and out like Ortiz did.
Parker would have a much easier opportunity to nail Wilder. Wilder doesn't have anywhere near the skills to back off, and when he does he sticks both arms in the air...
I don't think so, Wilder would knock him out, AJ didn't do it because AJ turned into Wladimir 2.0. But if Wilder feels that Parker's punching power isn't threatening him, he'll just turn on his mill and blow Praker from the ring. Without a punch, it's a bad thing to box with Wilder. Wilder can be outboxed ( like by Spilka) but then he will find a way to land his big punch.
OK. Some simple to digest points for those struggling to see what's right there: * Joshua had a perfect KO ratio before he fought Parker, including WK, and including a higher average standard of opposition than Wilder * Joshua had promised a KO, Hearn said he was expecting one in the early rounds * Parker has never been dropped or hurt, this adds some value to the idea that this may not just be hype * AJ is getting smarter, partly after being dropped against Klitschko. He realises when he can finish a fight, and when it's not safe to go in for the kill. Parker never left him with a chance to finish it. There were a couple of times AJ got his "I can smell blood and I'm going to finish this" modes, but Joe did two things that most other guys didn't: 1) Didn't collapse as soon as a shot with some sting hit him 2) Fired back, and even backed AJ back People need to get over this "Parker isn't much" mindset. I can't see how people aren't seeing what he is doing in the ring to make his opponent more gunshy - I even said I expect it to happen with AJ and people decide AJ decided to let it go rounds. NO. AJ *was* patient and careful, but the reason this went rounds is more to do with Parker than AJ. If this fight was against any of Joshua's previous opponents, I suspect the stoppage will still have happened. In some cases maybe slightly later due to a more systematic breaking down of the opponents before finishing it instead of going mental, but I don't see any of them going the distance. Bear in mind a lot of the guys hurt were already breaking down just from jabs and straight rights, and a lot of people were saying Parker would give up hope as soon as he felt some power. Aj is the same dude, same power, but at his best - Parker is a bad mofo, just much more of a technician than people have given him credit for. Wilder is a dangerous mofo, but Parker could give him some serious serious problems until or unless Wilder lands a bomb.
Parker wouldn't be able to get inside as it seems to be his Achilles heel. Wilder would just jab his head off like AJ did.
It would not be a bad fight to see how Wilder will do, although once Parker has a loss he is a little easier to beat.
No , he would get knocked out, even if they fight in that dirty island UK and everybody would try to help parker to make juiceshua look good.
It would be competitive but I don't think Parker has what it takes just yet to beat Wilder. He's too tentative to beat Wilder at the moment. His lack of ability to mount any meaningful offence would see him out boxed vs Wilder. He'd probably go the distance, his defence and chin are good and Wilder himself won't be able to steam roll him as when he does engage, Parker showed he can use his quick hands to fire back. That would make Wilder wary, but Wilder would pick up points behind his jab and win a UD. Parker is still young at 26, he has a few years before he likely even hits his prime. But if he's to become a threat to AJ or Wilder in the future he needs to a way to mount a meaningful offence. He can't do what he currently does and box and try to steal rounds with short bursts.
