Lumbering?? Parker is widely seen as the quickest HW in world boxing.

You need a look at his fight reel (below)=

Where was his pace against Fury? Who danced around him for fun? Cojanu? Ruiz, Takam? There was no pace. Let me guess his elbow surgery has made him quicker?

1 punch power probably goes to Joshua.

I think the speed and power for Parker will be a factor in the middle rounds. Because Joshua has stamina issues.

Parker knows this weakness. He will amp up the speed advantage the Brit might be in trouble and start to crumble. Joshua is vulnerable if he goes too hard early.

I feel that's what Parker has to do get Joshua to exert all the fuel he has early and then chop the big brit down in the middle rounds. I have no doubts the Brit will gas.

He has fast hands, a solid chin, a big heart and a willingness to throw combinations, which makes for an entertaining fighter. But technically I don't think he's a world beater in the slightest (although who is at HW?); his jab has mediocre timing (despite his impressive handspeed), his defense is pretty porous (loose guard and leaves his chin dangling in the air at times), and I think his footwork is particularly bad. Ruiz and Takam showed some holes in his back foot game (still goes back in straight lines), and Hughie made his front foot game look thoroughly clueless at times. I scored that fight for Parker, just, on activity alone but he showed an utter ineptness when it came to cutting off the ring, and displayed a distinct lack of guile and deception with his feints and jabs which is why Hughie saw every attack coming from a mile away. If Hughie had just threw two or three more counter rights per round he would have won that fight by a shutout, he made Parker's footwork look amateurish and slow all night just didn't do enough to capitalise on that. Parker desperately needs to ditch Kevin Barry, whom has taken him as far as he can.

I don't expect Joshua to blow Parker out as routinely as a great deal of his sycophantic cheerleaders do, but I do expect him to win via a fairly comfortable UD.

Parker has a good game plan, he has lost weight, will fight like he used to with speed, movement, heard he has a chin like Tua's, if so, it will be a long night for Joshua. I wonder if Joshua is looking past Parker? I expect Joshua to win, but I give Parker a chance, we will soon see. Parker has the balls to fight Joshua, Wilder does not!

To be fair i think Parker's boxing has improved since the Takam fight. I think his timing has improved notably. I think that was too early for him and i think this fight with Joshua is also too early for him in his career.

He lacks the Ring IQ for me. I don't think he knows how to cut the ring off properly and he comes in straight lines. His hands may be fast but his footwork isn't the sharpest.

I think a question mark is over his chin at this level. I personally think he needs a new trainer and train in the uk/usa. I think Peter Fury would be a good fit to improve his Ring IQ.

His stamina seemed to be good vs Ruiz Jr... though i do not rate Ruiz Jr to be as good as Takam... Takam knows how to apply effective pressure and keeps a high pace up which can trouble most at heavyweight. Takam does lack power relative to the division and he did hurt Parker in some rounds in the fight partly to Parker's stamina waning and partly to Parker being quite easy to hit.

As I said, some of you guys didn't get the memo that

Parker had TWO SURGERIES on his elbows in Nov - which had been robbing his power in recent fights.

Parker is now at FULL THROTTLE again after a great camp.

I believe Parker's SPEED and movement will be too much for AJ

Any bets for his weight in this fight? He looks every bit as lean as he did for Yakup Saglam which was around 107kg

I haven't given a thought about Joseph Parker.

But considering how full of themselves Joshua fans have gotten, I hope Parker wins.

Should he, I'm sure Joshua has a rematch clause. And, if they rematch, I'm sure one or two belts gets stripped because orgs don't like immediate rematches to block mandatories.

So one or more belts will be free for Wilder to pick up later this year.

Then Wilder will have two belts. Parker will have two belts. And Joshua won't have any.

That would be awesome. And it couldn't happen to better people.

But the chances of Parker getting a decision there are slim to none. He has to score a stoppage. Nothing short gets him all the belts.

He will try and make AJ work early on and come on strong from mid rounds i think. We will see when he gets thumped in the face. Takam buzzed him.
AJ will come out with a 12 round fight in mind,so won't go full monty from the off. But if he gets an opening, he will take it.
    Good card.I'll buy it.

He's probably the best fighter Joshua has faced so far.

Wlad was a much bigger name, but he'd already been on a floor a dozen times and was in his 40s.

We'll see. As always, I hope it's a great fight either way.

The Wlad that fought AJ would do Parker.Wlad hadn't been down for how long?
    I'd say second best.
It's all about opinions. Here's hoping for a great fight.:beer-toast1:
