Joseph Parker has placed his first offer on the table to fight Anthony Joshua, his promoter has claimed.

Negotiations began on Thursday for IBF and WBA 'super' heavyweight champion Joshua to meet WBC equivalent Deontay Wilder, but WBO title-holder Parker is still in the mix.

Parker's promoter David Higgins responded to Joshua's tweet on Thursday, telling Sky Sports: "Joshua is accurate - so I will make an offer. I will underwrite and promote the fight anywhere in the world to give Joshua 60 per cent profit.

delusional. Parker doesn't deserve no 40%

Give Parker a gift and settle at 70/30 and let's get it on.

70/30 for Parker id agree with
80/20 for Wilder id agree with

If anyones got a case for anything higher it would be Parker

I think 60/40 is satisfactory. Parker has a good resume and would be willing to play ball with Hearn's demands. Let's get it done.

    Yup.

Wilder hasn't even put an offer on the table. He is all talk, but when it comes to negotiation time, he runs and hides behind his sofa till it all blows over.

At least Parker has put an offer on the table, probably wont get 40% but you gotta start negotiations somewhere.

I would say its a fair starting point but cant see Hearn and AJ agreeing to it. 30% I think will be the max Parker gets.

30% and let Parker the NZ tv money.

Why does it have to be a percentage split of a purse? Surely this system degrades either one or the other fighter. Why not make a financial offer and keep the purses hidden? Rather than saying, Parker you get 20% or Wilder you get 35%, why not say will you fight Josh for $xx mill? Then surely you don't have the disrespect. Telling a fighter what he's worth against another is only gonna get his back up and lessen the chances of fights happening.

In the full statement they said Parker deserves 50/50 but will accept lower out of respect. Lol.... 75/25 is generous.

You could do that but then the other side will say 'You've offered x amount but we think that will only be 20% of the purses' or something.

Ya you also have to factor in Parker and wilder don't want to look ridiculous.

Wilder asking for 50-50 sounds bad, but 50-50 could be 20-25 million.

If wilder said he wanted 25 million he would look insane ,considering he only makes about 1 million a fight

I think if Hearn offered Wilder or Parker 10 million that would be a fair offer.

But what's more important to the fighter, the % of the purse or the cash they get? Hearn could say to Parker, will you accept £5 mil to fight Joshua, that could be 5% of the purse or it could be 40% of the purse. Why do fighters need know the split? Is Parker happy to fight AJ for £5mil should be the question, not, yeah but what is AJ getting.
