Hard fight to call. Parker hasn't faced a puncher like Wilder and Wilder hasn't faced a boxer who is disciplined and decent off the back foot like Parker. So a true 50/50 for me... slightly leaning towards Wilder on gut instinct.
I like Parker but the truth is this: If I was his managers I would concede he didn't look very dominating against 2nd tier guys like Takham and Ruiz. I would try to match him up with a couple of 3rd tier guys now, make some money. Then handle the WBO mandatory (is there one at the moment?). Then try to cash out with a unification vs. Wilder/Povetkin/AJ/Wlad in 2017/2018. That way Parker and his handlers will secure a nice nest egg with minimum risk. Any windfall from a unification will be the icing on the cake.
The mandatory is Hughie Fury and a deal needs to be reached within three months, I believe. Haye passed up on the chance.
This And this. Also I think Ruiz surprised a lot of people in this forum and I think he'll get another title shot if he gets more experience.
You just don't know boxing do ya. Parker won a hard fought decision. Ruiz would give both Joshua & Wilder all they wanted too don't diss the man
Parkers promoter said he was taking a break. Those sparring sessions where he threw 10 punches per round were extremely taxing on his old 24 y /o body.
560 punches thrown in that fight by Parker. 47 punches per round. If you are missing a few fingers OR have a few extra digits...I'd suggest using a calculator. The answer is pretty clear.
Wilder by KO late. Parker is just to defensively open and has no inside fighting skill which means wilder with a 4 inch height advantage would have a considerable reach advantage. Not a big fan of wilders skill but man the guy can crack.
