I have heard this term a lot since the Cotto/Clottey fight. Doesn't that sound to you like being "a little pregnant"????? :yep:yep. You either got hit, or you don't. I don't get that partially hit ****. Ok, a clean punch will probably do more damage. But that doesn't mean you didn't got hit.

i totally agree with the post, if you get glanced by a punch it should be considered by judges, not on how well the guy blocked punches, this is why cotto won the fight

About 10 are equal to a proper punch.

Clottey still won in the sport of boxing

No, it's not either blocked or not. If you throw a looping right hook at your opponent's head, but your opponent puts his gloves up, and your hook catches some of his gloves but part of your fist breaks his guard and lands on him, then it's a partially-blocked punch. If you throw a straight punch at your opponent's high guard, and it's with enough force to push your opponent's gloves into his own face and causes his head to rock back. It's a partially-blocked punch. It would be more damaging if his opponent didn't put his hands up, but it's still damage.

I score partially blocked punches, as should everyone.
