Bute might as well retire, he got KTFO'd when he finally stepped up in competition, went life and death in his comeback fight, now using injuries to duck opponents, getting older and declining more in the process. Interbox has milked all they can out of him, time to import the next Romanian hypejob.
What a comment, it says a lot about you. Promoters have confirmed anti-doping program for the fight. So Pascal’s doctor is also able to inspect Bute's hand for a personal objective neutral diagnosis.
Now I found out that he will resume trainings in August actually. It's serious injury, 8-10 weeks with that cast.
Va trebui sa port mâna în gips vreme de 6 săptămâni după care o atelă pe o perioadă cuprinsă între 8 şi 10 săptămâni, timp în care nu mă pot antrena. Va urma apoi o perioadă de recuperare. Doctorii mi-au spus că dacă totul decurge bine, în luna august aş putea reîncepe antrenamentele". http://www.gsp.ro/sporturi/box/bute...ra-cind-ma-retrag-inaintea-luptei-398045.html Is it 6 weeks + 8/10 weeks, or is it 6 weeks and then with the splints 2 or 4 more weeks ? :huh
... watch this space. Let's come back in August and see what's what.:good Think this injury may spell the end of Bute's career, anyway. After he fights Pascal in autumn/winter/spring next year (?), one or two more fights and then the long good-bye, imo.
It kind of ended like that for Diaconu to. But with Diaconu it was also a case of not having the drive for the sport anymore. Before a fight, Bute had to push him to get past the training camp... he wanted to quit before the fight.
I'm glad for Bute that the fight isn't taking place now. What he needs is another tune-up, whether he knows it or not. If I was his business advisor, I'd get Bute to recover fully from the operation, have a proper training camp, have a tune-up in November, say, take the ring-rust off, and then take Pascal on in March/April 2014. Fighting Pascal in September, say, means Bute is more rusty than he would have been in May, but Pascal is better than he would have been in May, and less rusty. In any case, I don't think Bute has more than 3-4 fights in him, max. :conf In any case, it's been a very good run, the best run a Romanian fighter's had, so we should be grateful and proud. :good
Here's a thought from left field: Chris Henry to step in to fight Pascal on the 25th! You heard it here first!
Knew it was too good to be true. Lucian falls back into obscurity, I wanted to see this fight.. oh well.
He doesn't have time for tune-ups. Those kind of fight don't help you. He needs good sparring parterres thou for him to be able to test at what level is at. His trainer also needs to prepare him for the worst, set him with the back against the ropes, or in the corner and put a guy to trow at him there, teach him how to get out of it, do it over and over until he finds multiple ways to do it on his own to.
Well, I'll stick to my guns and say that Bute's chances without a tune-up would be even less than they would have been had they fought on the 25th, if Pascal keeps the rust off and works on a few things with a tune-up. I would have given Bute a 30% chance of winning on the 25th. If Pascal fights on the 25th and they meet in autumn/winter, I'd only give Bute a 20% chance. Bute doesn't have time for tune-ups, it's true. But if Pascal destroys Bute, what next? A tune-up or retirement, right? Better for Bute to make it competitive, win or lose, because that at least allows him to fight a good opponent after Pascal even if he loses.
