If he only has 2 fights left, he has to perform in the biggest fight of his career - the one against Pascal - the one he will be remembered for most. So a tune-up makes sense, if it will help him perform better against Pascal. If it wouldn't, then, by all means, go for Pascal next, without a tune-up. I doubt they'd risk him against Shumenov in a tune-up, although he should really be able to beat Shumenov. Shumenov and then Pascal would be good.
Yah... cause after taking on Froch in his own backyard, how could Bute possibly dare to take Pascal in a money-spinner back home?:nut
Your point being...? No one is more disappointed than Bute this fight isn't happening, with the possible exception of Pascal.
His point is... DO NOT under any circumstances give any credit to Bute. Don't even think about it. :yep
Well, even if we don't give him credit, the guy is clearly exciting to watch and he gives it his all every time (e.g. Andrade 1/ Froch/ final round v. Grachev) - otherwise 10,000 wouldn't be paying good money to see his fights, hype or no hype, particularly after he got destroyed by Froch.
HBO rejected Shumenov. The promoters have cancelled the May 25th event. All the undercard fights from May 25th are moving to the Dawson-Stevenson card on June 8th. HBO still wants Pascal-Bute and will wait for the rescheduled date.
I assume the real reason why Pascal isn't fighting anyone in the end is because it means that this would be his last fight with GYM since his contract expires after his next fight. Yvon Michel isn't crazy, he won't let 50 cent sign Pascal and co-promote a Pascal-Bute fight. Michel probably offered Pascal to extend his contract for at least one fight and Pascal probably declined the offer.
As long as Pascal is not extending is contract, it will be like that. There are politics everywhere and boxing doesn't make any exception of that.
Between 4 and 6 months, the time needed for full recovery after a surgery like this. So August is actually best scenario case. That and the 3 months he'll be training. End of 2013, he'll fight again In November or December the earliest possible.
6 weeks the cast after the surgery, then 4-6 months of recovery. 2013 is done for Bute! And next year in February he'll be 34. atsch They must extract Bute's bone slivers! :-( The fight was postponed, not cancelled.
So PAscal is just waiting for Bute to recover? And who knows if Butes hands wll be ready for the fight next year? Stuipid thats all. Bute already had a close fight against a guy like Grachev. He wont get better after this surgery and another half year without boxing. Bute is done in my opinion.... I cant see how he can back at world level.
