... if Pascal would've let his hands go in the 1st 4 rounds I believe he could've .... hopkins was having trouble with pascals power ... he wasn't really hurt but he was all over the place in the early rounds ... with that said I thought hopkins won the fight .. a draw isn't crazy tho .. I'm not going to say it was a robbery .. it was a close fight and some of those rounds were hard to judge .. great fight
The round where Pascal landed his best punch of the night ended with him in a neutral corner face first with the turnbuckle, getting rained on. After the bell, granted, but how does he simply "let his hands go" and win if this is what happened after his best moment of the fight? The truth is that from about the middle of the fourth on, he didn't want to run into any more left hooks downstairs. There was a reason he wasn't letting his hands go.
True indeed but ... after he got knocked down from the shot behind the head, hoplins got hit a couple times and was kinda hesitant to punch ... then they trade and poom hopkins dropped ... right after the count hopkins went to the body and pascal didn't really throw anything else... all I'm sayin is if they had the exchange they had in the 12 some time withing the 1st 4 rounds I think he would've stopped him
pascal just needed to be aggressive and let his hands go and he probably would have won . He let hopkins get confident after the 4th round and thats when hopkins took over.
That isn't really true. He could have scored more legitimate knockdowns, perhaps - but there was nothing to indicate he ever had a realistic chance at a knockout victory. His best punches, incidentally - landed in the 12th round. :deal Hopkins swallowed them like cocoa (with melty little marshmallow bits).
Hopkins didn't looked fazed but after he was hit behind his head his legs weren't under him ..hopkins dropped fast on both knock downs
I disagree that 2nd knockdown was a left hook right on the chin and hopkins dropped fast ..... I think hopkins legs weren't under him early in the bout .... that and pascal wasn't sharp as he was early
Pascal was making Hopkins look pretty bad early. I agreed with Tarver's scores of 112-114 for Pascal.
