Pascal: Dawson-Hopkins = Boring fight

This isn't the fight to watch if you're looking to see a ko.

But if you're into great boxing at the highest level, this will be one to watch.

 

Pascal didn't really say who would win. Dawson has the qualities but Hopkins knows all the tricks?? So he gives the edge to Dawson but Hopkins could use his experience to eek a win out?

 

Fighters straddle that line frequently. When Cloud was interviewed about Pascal-Hopkins I he talked about Pascal's youth but then added "but hopkins can win".

Joe Calzaghe pretty much said the exact same thing when he was asked about Hopkins-Pavlik.

 

I didn't see anything in the link that mentioned Cloud. Did you get that from a separate article?

 

So Zsolt is out of the picture?

 

I don't think it will be a barn-burner, but it won't be boring; the fact that Dawson has to control the outside to win(and doesn't seem like he has the sharpness or the will to do that effectively and consistently enough over 12 rounds) means that Hopkins will have to press the action. He said he saved the best for last and is hoping to use all his physical integrity left to add some excitement, so I think we'll see some good exchanges.

got schooled by old man bhop twice and got lucky w/ the cut on chad's eye as he was coming on strong and pascal looked exhausted trying to hold on
i think the pascal vs. cloud would be an awesome fight tho, and give pascal a slight edge

He's right. Hopkins - Pascal II was prety dull too.

 

Hopkins said that all his last fights from now on will be exciting. :roll: From the looks of it not a single fan believed him.

 

It won't be a fight for casual fans thats for sure.
