just for that ridiculous stoppage, pascal needs to get a rematch. he will knock kovalev out with one of them big swings....kovalev's slow, clumsy ass can't get out of the way.

this time, get a real referee in there.

If pascal dies, ill blame you. Thinking you may be a racist white dude, always wanna see black fighters getting brain damaged.

Pascal did way better than Kovalev's past few opponents, but it was still a shutout. Pascal doesn't have the power to stop Kovalev, and he can't beat him fighting in spurts.

The dude was getting smacked hard. good stoppage. If it carried on and Pascal took permanent damage you would be calling for the referee's head.

Even if he deserves it, not a good idea to take it.

a shutout?....you mean you didn't give pascal any rounds?

i gave pascal 5, 6 and possibly 7. pascal was doing good until he got caught in rd 8....looked like he was fading as kovalev got his second wind....but the stoppage still made no sense...pascal was on his feet wth his hands up.

the reason pascal did much better is because he IS better...far better than caparello, and agnew and 50 yo hopkins or any of kovalev's opponents so far.

the thing is the rounds that Pascal arguable won, were extremely close and could have gone either way, and I had to restrain myself from giving some of those rounds to Pascal just because he was getting dominated in previous rounds and it looked like he was mounting a come backs with counter rights. I thought it was pretty much a shut out with some rounds being close, but Pascal did not clearly win any round.

The stoppage wasn't terrible, Pascal was pretty badly hurt. He could have continued but for how long? I highly doubt he would have made it till 12, and if he did he'd take some serious career ending damage.

i could see round 7 being close....but rounds 5 and 6 were clearly pascal's. pascal landed numerous big punches and looked to have kovalev shook up a couple of times....the fact that he had lost the early rounds doesn't have any bearing on if he was able to come back and win some. yes, pascal was sustaining damage, true....but so was kovalev...kovalev was taking a lotta big shots. if pascal could have landed 3 or 4 more of those sweeping right counters, and they were landing with a lot more frequency, who knows if KOVALEV would have made it to 12.

The first time Pascal got caught was him being stupid. He walked away from Kovalev, with his hands down, and got clocked for it.
The second time was just Kovalev doing his thing. In my eyes, the timing of the stoppage was ridiculous but i dont really see how Pascal could have won that fight.

But he does deserve a rematch if he can get an impressive win under his belt. Besides, who else is there to make a big money fight? Stevenson? A lot of good names are at 175 but not a lot of stars.

And to Pascals credit, he was slowing Kovalev down with the bodyshots and opening up a way upstairs.

Good fight and i hope to see a rematch. :bbb

I didn't see them as clear rounds. Pascal is a warrior no doubt, he deserves massive credit for his performance, but I think he should move back down to 168. Kovalev looked way bigger than Pascal.
