Kovalev must hav hit Pascal so hard he can't remember the pain. Froch hit Pascal with everything and never shifted him. Kovalev stopped him and looked like he was having fun doing it. The more Pascal talks like this the bigger his up and co ing beating becomes.
Kovalev is a good boxer and although he is slow, basic and yet untested it cannot be disputed that behind Stevenson, he is the leading belt holder in the LHW division. This fight with Pascal should be interesting. Pascal is confident the 1st fight was a fluke and ready to prove it in the rematch. Personally, I doubt Pascal will do any better than the 1st fight but perhaps this rematch will end more conclusively, leaving no doubt. Win/Win for Pascal. If he loses to Kovalev again, maybe he can get a match with Andre Ward.
That's funny...... I see to remember Kovalev brutalizing Pascal en route to a ref stoppage, and Froch taking Pascal the distance in a competitive fight. What is Pascal saying????? That his chin isn't what it used to be? Or is he just bitter? :think
By your dumb logic any opinion you have on the sport means nothing cause you aren't making them from inside the ring. The only agenda I see is yours.
I don't understand why people are even seriously discussing what Pascal said. Fighters say a lot of sh!t about opponents before their fights.
True. Froch as the UK Caveman and Golovkin as Russian Goat herder. Domestication skills make the difference. :smoke
I agree with the previous poster. Accuracy trumps power when you have enough power to crack the chin. It's probably that Froch is more heavy handed rather than a knock out artist. There's a difference.
So a brief recap with a few new additions. Tony Dodson said Robin Reid hit harder than Froch Brian Magee said Bute hit harder than Froch Darren Barker said Kessler hit harder than Froch Jermain Taylor said Abraham hit harder than Froch Glen Johnson says Froch hits a bit harder than Groves Pascal said Froch hits harder than Kovalev Darnell Boone said Kovalev hits harder than Stevenson Boone also said Golovkin hits harder than Kovalev Peter Quillin said Kovalev hits harder than Golovkin. He's also sparred Froch and he said if there was one fighter he had shared a ring with whose power stood out it was Kovalev's. Donovan George says Stevenson hits harder than Kovalev Pascal has fought Stevenson twice in the amateurs and said the Kovalev was the #2 hardest puncher he's fought after Froch Pascal has also sparred Beterbiev so I wonder where he ranks him? Campillo says that Tavoris Cloud is the hardest puncher he's fought (that was pre Beterbiev though) Cleverly is an iron-chinned LHW and he said Kovalev's power is savage and that each punch feels like being hit with a sledgehammer. Cornelius White is a soft chinned LHW but he says he's never felt power like Kovalev's before, even in sparring against CWs and HWs. Lionell Thompson says he's never been hit that hard before and he's sparred against Froch, Dawson, Pascal, Troy Ross and Lemieux, and that when Kovalev hit him it felt like his soul lifted from his body. He also said even the shots that land on the arms and gloves hurt, Cleverly said the same as well. Neither Pascal, Cleverly, or Thompson have ever been dropped or stopped prior to or after facing Kovalev. Kovalev achieved both against all of them. If we go by what fighters say about who hit them the hardest then Golovkin wins that one by a country mile. Of current fighters of course.
He said that since saying "Kovalev hits harder than Froch" makes no sense in the promotion stage of a Kovalev fight. You say that after the fight. That's about it. Not really a 10 page thread material.
Froch is prob like "I hit Jean Pascal harder than sergei kovalev in front of 80,000 people in Wembley Stadium".
