was reading fightnews earlier, its official to be in quebec city, and

    .....

its not on ppv but rather regular showtime availible to all ppl who have the showtime channel.

my question is, is this showtimes way to make up for the S6 tourny?

IMO by not making this a ppv they are trying to regain some credibility on the boxing scene, as imo they surely lost a bit of "make it happen" credibility with all the mishaps in the S6...

If putting Bernard Hopkins in a marquee fight is supposed to be Showtime's version of an apology to Boxing fans then I'd rather not accept it. Bernard Hopkins with all due respect is a great fighter but he hasn't had an impressive performance in over three years and to think he's going to headline another card make me cringe.

If anything this is Jean Pascal's way of saying "Hey Guys look I can beat an established fighter". So when people say " well, who has he fought, his handlers can say Bernard Hopkins.

But in all seriousness of Pascal fights Bernard at a forty year old man pace then he'll lose but if he makes it a high volume grind it out type of bout Bernard is in for a tough night.

I've always felt like Bernard Hopkins can beat almost any fighter in Boxing when the fight is a slow pace where he has time to set things up and make adjustments, but if its a high speed bout Bernard is out of his element.

I think Bernard Hopkins will make this the ugliest fight since.......well, his last fight and if Pascal can't make him work he'll get out pointed.

exactly two years ago in october 2008 he totally ****ed up pavlik, in the most one sided beatdown i have seen in a 'super fight' considering how hyped pavlik was.

actually i was reffering to the fact that they decided to make this a regular showtime fight rather than a ppv like it was said to be.

i figured showtime did this to give fans back a bit, you know....to show fans showtime can still put on a good show, which the S6 failed to do consistantly(although the idea was good)

Never sure what the Hop can bring on the table, so if I say I'm not excited about this fight, it's probably a lie :D

i'll be saddened if hopkins looks old in this, he's well overdue to all of a sudden get old in a boxing ring...

I'll be saddened if he wins using lousy tactics, whining, low blows...
I'll be sattisfied if he puts a clinic like he did against Pavlik
I'll be sattisfied if Pascal beats him decisively even though B-Hop looks old

Pascal won against Chad Dawson and Adrian Diaconu, who are established fighters if you ask me and were undefeated before their fights. I don't believe that this fight is gonna be easy on either part. It could turn really ugly.
