You look more and more ******ed every time I read you. Go suck Bute's **** somewhere else. What a pathetic nuthugger.:hi:
It takes two punches to get two knockdowns, has anyone seen the punch statistics of this fight?????? hopkins dominates it. Why should he retire if he can outland a young champion like that????
I did not rewatch the entire fight but did take a look at this round again, and I have a hard time giving it to Pascal. Pascal got in a couple of decent rights in the first minute and had his little flurry of uppercuts at the end of the round, but for a large stretch in between Hopkins was the only one connecting. Also, which specific punch are you referring to before the slip? It looks to me like a left is the only thing Pascal connects cleanly with, and it seemed to me that Hopkins hit him with an equally significant right immediately before that punch. I agree that it might be closer than lots of other people have it, but it never really looked to me like Pascal was getting in the harder shots in that round. I don't think I could even call it even to be honest.
I had Pascal winning the fight. rounds 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 12 + 2 points for the knockdowns = Pascal 114-112
Good thing about this match, that it was memorable and people talks about boxing after matches like that!! Good stuff that Pascal is taking challenges. No matter what happen in may, I'm sure we will talk about this match for ages :good [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpGFyraWrew[/ame]
I dont think so. Hopkins fought a great fight maybe his best post Taylor. But he is 46 yrs old. He fought the fight of his life and at best can replicate that night but I think he isnt going to be able to. Hopkins fought the night of his life and drew. Pascal is 28 or 29 and in his prime. He fought a very good fight but at times was way to inactive. Though im impressed because Taylor and Calzaghe beat him by just out working him Pascal drew him in a slow tactical fight that favors Hopkins so I respect Pascal. Where as that is the best Hopkins could give I think Pascal hits another level cause he is young and capable. Plus I think he can hurt Hopkins.
Truth is, Pascal being in his prime doesn't exclude an on-going learning process. The man is fighting top level opposition, showing loads of heart to get through adversity... if only he could maintain the same pace all night!! Pascal was spectacular in the four and a half first rounds of this fight. And IMHO, he's gonna be even more of a quick moving beast in the rematch. He knows exactly what he's gotta work on, and has lots of time to do it. Pascal knowing what to expect in a Hopkins fight outweighs Hopkins knowing what to expect in a Pascal fight, preparation wise. If there was any doubt in Pascal's head heading into the first fight, it's all gone now... Hopkins gave it all in the ring, and nobody can say Pascal struggled with him in comparison with BHop's last 6 opponents (minus JC). The rematch will be a blockbuster. Everyone should be pumped about it. :good
great post, the first fight was great, drama, knockdowns, and just a great tactical display but it was an exciting Hopkins fight i get what your saying about prime but my point basically was that Hopkins fought the best fight possible, Pascal already saw the worst case scenario BHop at his age doesnt have a next level and i have to ask could he repeat that night Pascal certainly can improve and i think he can hurt Bernard so thats why i picked Pascal to win a rematch
