not bad for a fight many weren't that high on. http://www.maxboxing.com/news/main-lead/so-which-rematch-for-pascal article also has the best boxing quote of the year "The ineptitude of the Gary Shaws- who calls himself a promoter- hes as much a promoter as Im a brain surgeon, Majeski added. He has a relationship to call up a television executive and get a date, period. Thats the end of it. Why in Gods name is the fight between [Devon] Alexander and [Tim] Bradley taking place in Pontiac, Michigan, in an 80,000-seat building?" :happy
I believe its because nobody wants to see em fight other that diehard boxing fans or personal fans ! They will most likely lose money where ever they do it IMO.........
That's because, as stated in the article, the Shaws and Kings don't give a **** about building a fanbase anymore, they just live off network money (Don King doesn't do that either anymore). Bradley vs Alexander should be in Vegas, this is Mecca of Boxing stuff. Female boxers sell 10.000 in Germany for Chrissakes, while these two will have a paying attendence of 3500. It's all the greedy promoters fault. Chad Dawson and Andre Berto earn millions but without HBO they'd generate just a few hundred Ks, covering the officials, security and electricity.
Well Sir as long Mein Fuhrer McCains rain of terror rules over American boxing. Are sport will never grow , But as for Vegas , If they want a fight , the promoters will come running , I am sure the Casino would rather watch Garth Brooks sing that night or those guys that get eat by those big White Tigers or something !
This fight was epic whatever your score card is in my opinion. If Hopkins wouldn't cry, we would more appreciate this boxing match. Cause in my honest opinion, we will more appreciate this fight in couple years.
