He will sign the bigger check. Apparently, Duva already communicated with Bédard, Pascal's new promoter (same of Bute), for a possible fight early next year.

Pascal his also willing to fight Stevenson, but for a bigger share than 30-70, which Stevenson wants. Stevenson may have a Showtime deal, which brings him good money, but fighters (Pascal and Bute) have been getting maybe even more money in Québec than with the US TV networks. Pascal-Stevenson would generate way more money than Stevenson by himself. Stevenson is not a draw and the december' 19th fight in Québec city will show it.

Pascal said he wanted a "tournament" for 2014 between him, Steveson on one hand and the winner taking for 2015 the winner of Kovalev-Hopkins on the other hand. Stevenson refused, preferring taking an easy fight and the 70-30 deal which is what the WBC rules are in a mandatory fight.

    War Pascal!

I'll share something I've received earlier on. I haven't seen the first message though and why Kim Newman felt the need to reply. It seems like an email exchange. Here it is:

Unknown name, We will do our best to arrange the Kovalev-Stevenson fight. We like it too!! we will contact you soon with more info about devellopement between Main events and Gym Hbo & Showtime but its sound verry verry good

    Best,

I want Brahmer/Kovalev. And Stevenson/Pascal. The winners can then battle and the winner of that fight becomes the undisputed king at LHW :deal

    This sounds awesome.

I favor Pascal and Kovalev, but they're both intriguing clashes of styles.

I agree.. Brahmer is a technician, and I think it could actually turn out to be a chessmatch and shock a lot of people. Kovalev showed against Hopkins showed that he can box, and stick to a gameplan for 12 rounds even against Hopkins one of the most cagey/frustrating guys to deal with.

I think Pascal would knock Stevenson out as well, he's the better boxer out of the two and he has more than just a hard left cross.. Better chin as well. What about Pascal/Brahmer, how do you see that one going? :think

Pascal fought like a brawler against Hopkins to match the fact that Hopkins is more like a conter puncher. Look at his fight against Diaconnu, or other fight, where he boxed. After his fight against Dawson, Dawson said he was the most skilled fighter he fought back then. Dawson was seen as one of the top p4p fighter and Pascal almost won every round against him.

An excellent technician, with a very good chin to boot.

Pascal with his patented leaping hook probably takes Stevenson out, but if his injuries flare up or he turns in an uninspired performance I can see him giving it away.

Pascal vs. Brähmer, what a dream! I say the German rises off the canvas late and holds on to eke out a UD after banking lots of early points.

The boxing gods need to hurry up and give us these fights already! In all honesty I'd be happy to even see one of these in 2015.

I'd be happy for any of them. Make all of them happen and it's Christmas come early!

Time is running out for Brähmer to be a part of really meaningful fights with big names and still be competitive in them. I'd hate to see him go the Zsolt Erdei route and wait too long, and then make an underwhelming impression if and when he finally does break through outside the Euro scene. (poor Erdei...he was actually robbed against Grachev IMO, but at 40 the setback of the loss was too much for him to want to rebound from... :verysad)

Glazewski is a poor challenger, and that makes three in a row. The only really viable opponet Brähmer has faced in this WBA title run is Oliveira, against whom Brähmer claimed it after Shumenov vacated. His opposition in his 2nd reign as Euro champ was actually better! (and his WBO title run of course was his best period)

Notching a Kovalev, Pascal or Stevenson would do wonders for his resume and legacy.

Not to mention get him paid better than he ever has been in what by then will have been about fifty pro bouts!

Why not? Just like Narvaez and to an extent John, extraordinarily skilled champion with great longevity that hardly anybody knows about or just writes off as some homebody belt-hostage-taking paper champ because they a) compete in weight classes that aren't terribly glamorous, unless you hail from certain nations (which they don't) and b) speaking of where they're from, yeah, they mostly just stick there and have a fan base there...and, well, nowhere else.

Sounds like him. Though I've never considered him extraordinarily skilled, he is skilled nonetheless. Always struck me as a bit of an underachiever. Inconsistent. A headcase, if you will. Granted, I haven't seen much of him in recent times, although that's been due to a lack of interest on my part.

The difference is that those others did, at some point, indulge in top notch competition, although they did also enjoy the comforts of home.
