IBF gave an examption to Kovalev for him to be able to fight Pascal instead of Nadjib Mohammedi, his mandatory. Pascal - Kovalev it is!:happy
Hard for me to get excited about this fight but I guess its the 2nd best option for Kova... will be nice to see him fight another known guy on a big stage I guess. I don't expect this fight to be very competitive after a few rounds though.
Now this is intriguing - a derogatory what? Oh ****, I'm becoming a gossip hunter atsch. Still... tell me.
With a ridiculously small top class of the big 3 at 175 (Kovalev, Adonis, Hopkins), Pascal actually is the #4 guy. Obviously Pascal is a great opponent for Kovalev.
Oh, the thread. Well, yeah. Given that I don't think Pascals that good anyway... I'm kinda meh. I'lll be disappointed if Kovalev doesn't stop him, though Jean ain't a slouch and should be able to last past the halfway mark. Still... in terms of viewership and 'name' status it's the biggest fight out there for Sergei (and for Pascal) so I'm glad this shit's getting put together.
I think Kovalev fights conservative before looking for and getting the KO when Pascal inevitably gasses.
It is and has been a relatively weak division, but there's a bucketload of talent climbing up through the ranks and Kovalev is gonna have to keep his wits about him. A coupla years ago he would have had a fairly easy ride at the top, but now? The kid's gonna have to really work for a living.
It could be. It's certainly a winning strategy now we know Kovalev can actually box well through 12 rounds, but I'll still be kinda disappointed if the Krusher doesn't come to Krush.
Nothing that bad, I think he was going for exemption from fighting his (derogatory) mandatory, or something....I guess
