Jean Pascal said no to a WBO interim title shot. Here's the link : http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2/headlines//EkEyZkAVplSpPthJpV.html Care to discuss this?:rasta
why would he do that? he's not exactly a name is he was he going to fight inter-continental champ Balzsay? next in line is froch
Exactly. He's been offered by the WBC to fight Inkin and if he wins, the winner of Froch-Taylor (If ever it happens) for the WBC trinket. If Taylor-Froch doesn't happen because Taylor fights Lacy instead, he's going to fight Froch for the belt. PLUS, the WBO fight against Balzsay was supposed to be for the belt but Calzaghe decided to keep it so it would've been for the interim title instead.
Why don't the WBC just give the title to Froch ffs. Taylor isn't going to fight him, he'll fight Lacy instead and he's not a worthy opponent for a world title anymore, he's a gatekeeper. Inkin had his chance to fight Froch and pulled out twice.
Smart move I guess... Inkin is an easier opponent. It's a mandatory position vs. the WBC champ (Froch-Taylor winner) vs. a mandatory position as an interim champ vs. Joe Calzaghe who doesn't give a sh*t about his mandatories anymore: he's saving his WBO belt for the Pavlik fight.
But I think his decision will be the same as Pascal. Calzaghe did not vacate his title so he will try for the WBC title instead. More money at the end of the tunel.
Then make him Froch's mandatory defence instead of bringing Taylor, Lacy and Inkin into the frame aswell.
I have to agree on that... But this is too logical for the WBC i guess. They need to make everyone linger.:rasta
ye they must make things as confusing as possible, in a world where common sense prevails froch v pascal would be for both the wbc and wbo titles
