With Pascal's right shoulder injury (he dislocated it at least 3 times yesterday... and still won), he should undergo surgery to fix that and stay inactive for at least 9-10 months before throwing punches with that arm. I give him all props for dominating Diaconu with one arm for half of the fight and fighting with a torn rotator cuff for the last 2 years, but if he wants to beat the likes of Dawson and Cloud, he needs a forced rest of at least several months before training again.
why does he need surgery? Do you have a source for this. The body can often heal itself better than surgery if given the right amount of time and methods.
Haven't seen that, but a friend of mine who watched the fight and is a doctor told me that he needed to undergo surgery. That makes sense since Pascal had a 10 months layoff in 2008 and that did'nt resolved the problem.
Far too active as it goes. Froch, comeback fight, Diaconu, Brance and then Diaconu rematch all within a year (and 5 days). He needs a prolonged rest to heal his body, freshen up and perhaps work a bit of his defense before taking on the likes of Dawson or Cloud.
If he needs to get surgery he should take the time off and not take any risks. He's a great guy to have in the LHW division, and he's young enough that he could come back from a lay off.
Meh, I'm pretty sure he could beat Cloud with one arm anyways...Dawson he;d need three arms. But I agree I don't want to see him in a gym for the next 6 Months at least. Its tough though cause he was riding such a high and there is so much momentum behind this guy. Also I remember what happened to Vernon Forest after he injured his sholders. His career was basically a wash. I really hope that doesn't happen with this guy cause he's got what it takes to be a great fighter.
Here's a video of the 10th round, where Pascal dislocated his shoulder for a 3rd time (at the 3:05 mark). His corner then tries to put it back in place. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn_47yx2r4o[/ame]
