Just watched it (thanks to Jakkups) and my word, what a fight. A comment was made in the Froch fight by a commentator that Pascal models himself on Jones Jnr. Needless to say it didn't really appear that apparent in the Froch contest, however in the Diaconu fight I was very impressed. Pascal was skipping around and landing some very hurtful blows... LHW is definitely for him. This also raises Froch's resume in my book. Do you think a rematch is in order? I'd like to see Pascal defend the belt once and then meet Diaconu again for another war.

What a performace by both men, I don't know why people are not discussing this fight more. Instead we have 1,000 thread on one of the worst fights I have even seen in Wlad v Chagaev.

    Sort it out ESB.

It was a superb fight, and I have a funny feeling they'll put damage on each others face at least one more time. At times it seemed Pascal could break down but came back with some awesome shots, what a performance.

Ah good. I forgot it was a friday evening fight. Well, I still think there should be MORE threads on it!

Both fighters proved a lot in the ring that night.

I totally agree. He has now been in two fights within a year that could contend for 'fight of the year'.

The Froch Pascal fight was also another *******, I think he had something to prove many on here thought he had a shaky chin, but he really can take a good punch. I thought against Froch he wore himself out in the first 5 rounds and tried to get Froch out of there, Eventually Frochs jab told in that fight and he won down the straight.

He's certainly got the ability to hold the belt and give Chad Dawson a good fight.

Luckily, we'll see a rematch between the two of them...Pascal will have a fight vs Branco, and it'd probably be smart if Diaconu took another fight in the meantime as well.

    It's nothing set in stone.

Probably a doubleheader in october or separat cards, who knows.

    Nothing set.

Personally I'd prefer Diaconu not to choose the rematch but he wants to avenge the loss.

He was still throwing massive barrages in the later rounds so I disagree, I just think Froch just utilised his effective jab and kept him at bay better than he did for the first 5 rounds.
I'm really pleased Pascal's gone on to win a title. I think he won over alot of Brits with the way he came over here and fought life and death with Froch for 12 rounds. Prior to this win alot of Froch haters were seriously underestimating Pascal to diminish Froch's record, but they're pretty silent now.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself. Can't blame me for wanting it to happen though. :D

    Most likely it will happen.

Diaconu wants it and that's all the rematch needs.

I luved evey round of that fight it was fantastic. I hadnt seen diacanu fight before but pascal I expected something great from him becuz ive seen some of his fights and knew he had more than what he showed in the froch fight.

As for his fute i think he should stay at light heavy and maybe some tym in the future give froch a rematch. He is deffinatley a top light heavy weight fighter from what he showed the other day

Does he have a rematch clause? My understanding was that Interbox gets an option, but that there wasn't actually a rematch clause. If it's an option, Interbox might be better off trying to pair him with Chad Dawson or Lucian Bute than having a Diaconu rematch.
