Pascal v Diaconu .... what a FIGHT!

Totally right! I can't wait to see what's in store for him (and us) in the next years. I've been a fan since his early fights because of his raw talent and exciting style. It's fascinating to see him evolve trough his defeat to Froch.

Even with his low-hands showboating style, I think his defense has gotten better. True, his low ducking screams for uppercuts, and I still fear what boxers with a good, long reached straight right hand could do againts him, but he rolls better with punchers and uses his shoulder movement a lot more to block shots. It's also obvious he's more confortable at light heavyweight, as he wasn't drained like in the Froch bout.

I think a rematch againt Diaconu, after his mandatory defense vs Branco, is almost certain. It would be too good for both organisations (GYM and Interbox) and boxing in Quebec to pass on, but I'd like to see him match up againt the light heavyweights before trying to unify the supermiddleweight titles (Bute, Froch). I'm not sure he's ready for Dawson right now, but seeing how fast he's been improving lately, it might be possible earlier than most think.

Hats off to both fighters for a superb historic fight!

 

Pascal lost to Froch and he won against the "Shark". Pascal was smart enough not to be hit by Diaconu's hardest. Froch is an SMW so I doubt that he bangs harder that Diaconu. Pascal fought better against Diaconu. Froch would have had a much tougher fight on his hands if Pascal had better judgement.

 

Hey, anyone know if the rematch is going to be shown here in the US? Seems like it'd make alot of sense for Versus or ESPN to pick it up given how good the first fight was.

I think Pascal rolls in this one. I was expecting more from Diaconu in the first fight.
