But who has Pascal really beat himself, you telling me beating Diaconu is something to go by, come on dude, the guy got beat by Froch who he should of got out of there easily with the speed advantage he held but he is not an intelligent fighter and he fought Froch's fight and gassed towards the end and Froch took him. Dirrell would box rings arounds Pascal, I think you are forgetting this is the same Pascal who almost got knocked out by Omar Pittman. Dirrell is the future of this division and it will be plain to see after he defeats Froch. If he completely fails in this tournament then I deserve to be cream pied in my face but as for now I believe that he has the tools and assets to rise to the very top despite his quality of opposition thus far.
Let's see how Dirrell does against Froch.. if he gets KTFO I rest my case. If he knocks Froch out.. you might be right. If it's a SD or anything close like that.. we'll have to agree to disagree then.
Not really dude, Diaconu is no gage of Pascal's ability, he might look better physically but all he did differently against Diaconu is use his head and his brain to fight a smarter fight than he did against Froch. It wasn't an exhilerating performance against Diaconu but he did use his brain and fought smart, Diaconu is a C level fighter at best anyway.
You might think so.. but you're very biased. You'd probably say that Hanshaw is better than Diaconu next. And if we push you enough, that Hanshaw is better than Froch.
I agree, I believe that after the Froch fight alot of the guys who were totally slating Froch will jump on the Dirrell bandwagon. Especially if he stops Froch in dramatch fashion. You cant help but root for a guy who is vastly underrated because of who he has fought upto this point. Everybody always looks at quality of opposition but the same thing can be said about Floyd Mayweather Jr, how good will he be against a True Welterweight in their prime or somebody who can actually fight back for the full 12 who holds the power to hurt him and the speed to offset him. We just dont know and its the same thing with Dirrell but we can make an assessment in the same way people look at Floyd and assess him based on his talent and ability and his ring smarts and I feel Dirrell will outbox Froch and possibly stop him if Froch does not learn to keep those hands up.
Yeah but you have to realize that it only takes one good flush right hands of Froch and that fight is over. And Dirrell ain't Pernell.
Hanshaw is probably near enough where Diaconu is in terms of levels but I never said Hanshaw was anything special. I believe Hanshaw was coming off a long layoff before he fought Dirrell so Im not one to make excuses I tell it how it is. Hanshaw despite going 11 rounds with Jones is not a very intelligent fighter, he reminds me of a bull and Dirrell being the Matador, he was waved in by the red rag and got himself beat down because of his stupidity. Diaconu is one dimensional and he does not possess anything special apart from having a bit of punch power. Hanshaw is not better than Froch, Froch will be the best opponent Dirrell has faced upto now
Dirrell is no Pernell but he is no Taylor or Pascal and the guy can also put his punches together and he can sit down on them if he chooses to, I just think he does not load up so that he can break you down rather than just try to take you out with one shot. Froch has got big punching power but so did Oganov and Stevens and I know these guys were not comparable in any way to Froch but Froch is slow of hand and foot and I just cannot see Froch landing anything significant because Dirrell will roll them or just tie Froch up whenever Froch decides he wants to apply the pressure. Froch will have to keep resetting the whole night because everytime he will go to throw he will be countered and it is only a matter of time before Dirrell connects one good one and puts 3 or 4 behind it to get Froch's attention. I feel Froch will try to walk him down all night but at some point I see Froch being put on the back foot. Similar to how Margarito was put on the back foot against Mosley mid way into the fight.
god you read some **** on here. pascal is every bit as fast and talented as dirrell. pascal has also faced world class comp (froch, diaconu) and fringe world class (ikeke). dirrell may be ambidextrous but being able to write with both hands is one thing. in boxing, he's bloody one-handed. he only has a left hand. so basically he has an orthodox jab, and he has a southpaw left cross. this is why he has to keep switching, and andre ward does the same. it actually limits both guys.
yeah, if him and Froch fought again i think it would be even closer, i wouldnt be able to pick either.
ive been reading this thread with some amusement and wondering how it ended up that the most vocal of dirrell's supporters is someone from england? unless theres an essex in america i dont know about anyway, im an american and ive been following dirrell for a while and im hoping the best for him but i think froch is going to win... the only possible positive outcome for dirrell will be if he fights like he did in the curtis stevens fight and if that happens he might escape with a decision but he is going to get booed out of the ring and lose every fan he could have had i have seen him fight live and i just didnt think he looked that great... granted he looked extremely FLASHY so he gives the appearance of looking great... i think andre ward is a better fighter though
