yes easily, i know that prime hopkins is tough for anyone (except rjj) but people are mistaking if they think he i going to beat pascal. I guess their thinking old fox hopkins is going to tactically get a ud like he did against pavlik, but that fight is some years ago and even b-hop will get caught by time at a certain point. The chance is bigger that the hopkins of the last rjj fight shows up. Just to refresh your memories, he did not win that fight widely like the cards are suggesting. I scored the bout 115-112 for hopkins. And he was faking being rabit punched, low blowed, trying to get jones dq'd and whining like a little ***** throughout the fight. His speed and stamina obviously declined and this was against the zombie version of jones. Jean Pascal will beat him.
I think Pascal will beat Hopkins. Not easily, but I think it will be a close fight and then in the late rounds Pascal KO Hopkins.
I agree, Hopkins will have a hard time regaining the championship for sure, but it will not be a easy win for Pascal.
Hopkins got robbed against Calzaghe bud... I had it 7-5 Hopkins. Those slaps and arm punches JC was getting credit for as landed punches were disgraceful...and even more disgarceful was the fact that the judges saw fit to give Slappy Joe the decision. Calzaghe's face at the end of the fight said it all... Hopkin's face on the other hand was completely unmarked.
Im doing a Parlay and im thinking of picking a couple of upsets in there. Im thinking of picking Hopkins as one of them. Hopkins just disposes of fighters that lack fundamentals. However Pascal is big strong and fast. He does have suspect stamina though. If he doesnt take the majority of the first 6 rounds i can see Hopkins beating him.
You cannot beat Hopkins easily. Even if hes 60, he will probably lose against top level fighters, but will make it a gruelling affair. Hopkins likes being the underdog, so this thread itself is encouraging for him
precisely! I find it extremely difficult giving rounds to a fighter when he slaps and uses "pitty pat" punches In contrast to Bernard clean and effective shots, which werent as frequent though.
