Hello, Classic Boxing fan here. For years, I have been trying to track down some rare fights from some of my favorite fighters. And I was very happy to see some Kid Gavilan, Eder Jofre and Fighting Harada (two of my favorite Bantams) up on Youtube, and particularly that bloody good Jofre-Jose Medel bout. Another Boxer that I've been getting interested in is the legendary Argentine Flyweight Pascual Perez. His Boxingrec is impressive but I'm real frustrated that theres barely any videos of him. Browsing upon several other boxing message boards, I found out that there is some footage of his which exists - the two flyweight bouts with Yoshio Shirai and Dai Dower. Anybody know anything about this? Or perhaps can PM the fights if they have it. Any help will be appreciated...I'm just dying to see this guy in action.
I used to own highlights of one of Perez' fights and that was about it - he looked very good. Unfortunately I lost it.
He has a good left hook... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEztuf4Skpk[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrKecuoIrng[/ame] But I´m not much impressed with his skills.......maybe is just me.....I would like more opinions about this...... Not much to say really........
I'm actually pretty impressed with him. Maybe he is lacking actual skills as Vic says, but for all--round effectiveness he is really good. I love the way he uses his height to his advantage by staying low and quickly changing angles and bursting out, and up, from his stance with fast bunches of shots. Pretty hard style to get to grips with really.
He's got great legs.Spring, balance, effective footwork, lateral movement etc. Reminds me slightly of a much looser, more agile Cerdan.
