Name some past greats who have a modern day counterpart (fighters similar in style, personality...)
    Some of mine are
    Aaron Pryor - Shawn Porter
    Marvin Hagler - Errol Spence
    Meldrick Taylor - Timothy Bradley

I disagree with all three, quite strongly.

Pryor and Porter have little in common aside from they both like to pressure eachother. One made any fight entertaining, the other makes any fight boring. I'd say that Porter is more in line with Sammy Angott. A similar pressure fighter who also liked to smother in close so he could shut down the opponents offence.

I'd actually say that the workman-like athleticism of Bradley, and his will to win was actually more reminiscent of Hagler them Spence is. Neither actually remind me of Hagler, though. Crawford is the closest comparison, and he doesn't really remind me of him either. If I had to pick one guy to compare to Bradley, it may well be Willie Joyce. A well schooled, real tough, talented out-boxer who had the balls to face the best in the world.

Taylor honestly reminds me of a much, much better Amir Khan. Speed, flash and defensive irresponsibilities, combined with an unhealthy lack of power.

Those don't match at all, style-wise. Here's mine:

    Roman Gonzalez - Alexis Arguello
Canelo - Rodrigo Valdez (though Valdez was far superior)
    Pacquiao - Flash Elorde

None of those fighters fighting styles are ANYTHING remotely
alike. As far as ability and skills are concerned the modern
fighters are not in the same league.

You really think these two match up, stylistically? I'd definitively call one a swarmer and the other a boxer-buncher.

Cuadras didn’t have half the talent or personality Tapia had. He could really, really box when he kept his composure, too. I can’t envision Cuadras white washing Konadu the way Johnny did.

Oh I agree, but I think they're quite similar stylistically. I don't think many fighters today are even close to the level of the fighters I compared them to. Prime example being Armstrong and Jesus Chavez.

They have the same punch mechanics (since Roman learnt them from Alexis), same mentality and defensive style. The only reason style is impacted is because of their physical attributes at the weight IMO.

I would say Crawford is the most similar to Hagler stylistically. Versatile boxer punchers who can fight from either side.

Purely on mannerisms and personality (no comparison style wise) Benny Parret reminds me a lot of Ricardo Mayorga
