HOF is such a difficult thing to guage.

I tend to think u should be eligible for the HOF if you've been involved in memorable moments and achieved great notoriety, providing great boxing moments. So if u go by that, then maybe guy's like Gatti and ward should be there.

I think there should be 2 recognised ahievement catagories....All Time Great should have its own alongside Hall Of Fame.

**** heart! If you're gonna put in guys simply based on heart... theres COUNTLESS club fighters you can put in. And based on WHAT did they show "the most" heart? Every fighter has heart to some degree! Hell... a guy like Richard Hall displayed as much heart as anyone.... is he HOF calibre?

Gatti and Ward are NOT HOFmers... Ward isnt even REMOTELY close to being one!

If you put in Ward... Zab Judah, Vince Philips, Charles Murray, and countless others better get in before scrub ass Ward does.

And I know ppl love to hate Zab Judah... but he's WAAAY more deserving of the HOF before either Gatti, or Ward get in... and Zab isnt HOF material.

Ayala got absolute gifts over Tapia. When he stepped up in weight (and class) MAB manhandled him like it was a sparring session. He doesn't get in. Ottke never fought outside of Germany for good reasons and has no really high quality wins as a pro. He's out.

Corrales, Casamayor and Castillo are the best candidates from your list imho.

That shouldnt be the criteria. If exitement is a criteria then they should also put in Ray Oliveria, Antonio Diaz, Scott Pemberton, guys like that. Theres PLENTY o fighters WAY more deserving of the HOF than Gatti and arent in. Guys like Donald Curry, Esteban Dejesus, Julian Jackson, Marlon Starling... all these guys havent made the HOF yet, and deserve to WAAAAAY before Gatti.

Darius M is out, but tarver and Johnson are "sure ins"? :huh

These guys were just contenders at 175, who beat a shot RJJ. DM on the other hand was the #2 Lightheavyweight champion of the past 20 years, without a doubt.

DM gets in way before either Tarver or Johnson.

Yes he did, he was top 20 after beating Virgil Hill for 3 belts in 1997 (and rated #1 at Lightheavyweight for the rest of that year).

He was also on some top 10 lists from 1999 (after KOing Griffin) through to 2003, and on virtually everybody's top 15.

Stupid or not, he run his record long enough and was undefeated
at the end, his record is borderline for HOF status. Like it or not he will make it.
People who protected him the whole career will have their votes ready.
