so i was thinking that some of these past prime hof fighters that were never ever dominated.was always in the fight. lost but ALWAYS competitive. heres a few names. lewis odlh bhop jmm current pacman current floyd etc etc the list of past prime fighters that were completely dominated includes morales mosely rjj etc etc does this say anything about the skills of a fighter?
Shows more of what their style is and who they fought. Fighters whose style relies mostly on quick reflexes and pure athleticism tend to end up being dominated once too far past their prime because they are trying to fight as if they still had their prime reflexes. Mosley and RJJ are two of the best examples of this. Those who have great fundamentals tend to avoid be dominated provided they don't on for way too long. Morales, of course, had solid fundamentals but he fought guys such as Garcia and Pac, who are poison for older, slower oponents.
Take Morales off the list please. Morales was on a whole different level of "past prime" LMFAO - dude was past prime when he beat Manny Pacquiao. Was in the 3rd dimension when he came back to beat Marcos Maidana's ass. And took Danny Garcia 12 rounds before getting KO'd finally in this last bout. That is what SUPERNATURAL LOOKS LIKE!!!!!
Monzon & Hagler are really the only ones that fit the bill. You can throw Mayweather & Hopkins in there, but their careers haven't concluded yet, and their UN-NON-dominated status can change at any moment. But Holmes deserves a shout. His career spanned 3 decades, 75 fights and he fought well into his 50's and was only beaten decisively ONCE, and by a PEAK ATG, while he himself was coming off a 2 year layoff and was in his late 30's.
