Bums the Whole Lot of Them:-:)blood:verysad

Almost every Fighter from the past that's considered a Legend would be run out of the Business by the fickle fans of today, after their first or second loss, they'd definitely be dropped by HBO and Showtime, they'd be the opening match on FNF or Shobox. Boxers now days are being kicked to the curb left and right a little too easily, in boxing there are winners and losers just because someone loses doesn't mean they're worthless, fans standards are unrealistic and set far too high, Everyone loves a winner, but losing is an unforgivable offense.

Most of the Legends would be so savaged by the writers and fans, their reputation would be utterly destroyed and they would end up about as relevant as Trevor Berbick or Razor Ruddock. Its a good thing the World Wide Web didn't exist in their day, they would have been beaten to a bloody pulp and thrown in the trash, after their second loss, if they were lucky.

This doesn't apply to all fans by the way.

Ali was schooled by Frazier and Norton what a bum, I don't want to see him on TV ever again, why Frazier giving him a rematch, Foreman is a cherrypicker.

Cassius Clay was 29 when he lost to Frazier. 31 when he lost to Norton. Wladimir Klitschko was 27 when he lost to Sanders, 28 when he lost to Brewster. Ali went on to go 15-3 after his last loss, 12-2 in world title fights after the loss to Norton. Retired at 39. Wladimir has gone 21-0 since the Brewster fight, 18-0 in world title fights and is currently 38. Yet people bring up 10 and 11 year old losses to diminish him and say he doesnt compare to the ATG's. Its just sad :(

Losses don't mean ****, it's who they beat that makes them great.

If you put 7-10 victories between your defeats, I don't think they judge you as harshly. Hopkins, Klitschko, Pacquiao, and Marquez are fairly good examples of this. Cotto remained marketable despite his losses to top guys. Maidana's credit has noticeably improved since he lost twice to Mayweather, even though he already had the reputation of a gatekeeper, having previously lost to Khan, Alexander, Kotelnik, and in my opinion Morales. Matthysse has losses but continues to draw, etc.

Also, you are forgetting that the legends you listed, most of their losses came at the tail end of their careers.

.your point is about todays fighters getting discarded too easily after a loss which I agree with.I reacted to the title saying these legends are a joke.I see what your saying.

Couldn't agree any more,, If anything this hurts boxing because it's missing out on what could be excellent fights and atg fighters. I hate when floyd brags about his 0 or compares him self to past legends. Would of been hard to keep that 0 back in the day .

James Braddock was a genuine bum who got lucky against Max Baer and little else

to call him a legend is an insult to real legends
