He's weight is positively an issue. Barry came in at around 250lbs. He's not even 6ft and was never that heavy when he was in the K-1. If he's conditioning was better he would have won that fight. But he was out of breath and sloppy.
I think he would of won, regardless of weight, if he would've concentrated on finishing Cro Cop when he had the chance, as opposed to trying to get an autograph, taking pictures, and making friends during the 'fight' I think you had it right; he fights too much with a fan mentality and there is little to no room for that, especially at the big stage. I honestly thought he threw the CC fight away.
Pat cant make 205. He's a naturally chunky dude. But he can defiantly get down to 220. He just needs to dedicate himself more.
I'm not saying its not a negative but its clearly a much smaller issue than his lack of wrestling and submission ability.
Yeah i know what you mean but 250lbs at 5ft 11 is considered morbidly obease! I know he has muscle which weighs a lot more than fat but he is still too heavy. I'm a stocky guy myself and i'm 5ft 10 and got up to 253lbs which was just crazy! I'm at 215lbs at the moment but i'm on the way to 190lbs or so and if i can do it i'm sure he could make 220lbs and cut down to 205lbs for the weigh-in. Or am i over critical of him? Doen't he go out with Cro Cop too or is that just rumours? :hey Lynchburg
I'd say the extra weight is less an issue in itself and more of an indication that Barry may not be putting the same level of work into his MMA career than he did his kickboxing career.
His weight is a big issue. It has a direct affect on his conditioning and thus he's performances. And yeah he got CC's autograph. So i would imagine they're probably quite friendly being in the same org..
