Tried to do 30 minutes of skipping today. I'm not very good at skipping. Managed to do 20 minutes worth, did stop a couple of times though. I need to work on my skipping.

Next i did 25 burpees, 15 commando push ups, 35 normal push ups and ended with 25 burpees.

Put on my hand wraps and Shadow boxed for 3min X 5. I'm not comfortable with throwing punches like the left hook and both uppercuts. I need to work on my combinations. I find myself only using the Jab and straight right only. I'm missing out on alot of chances.

    In between the rounds :

    1. 20 sit ups and took a 7.5kg dumbell and went from side to side 10 times each side.
    2. 30 push ups
    3. 25 mountain climbers on each leg
    4. 15 burpees
    5. Plank for 1min 30

Went back for dinner and came back to do more after 2.5 hrs.

The heaviest dumbells available in the gym below my apartment are 10kgs so yeah, and that's the optimal for me.

    1. 4 X 7 of 10 kg each hand from floor to chest then shoulder press
    2. 4 X 7 of 10kg bicep concentrated curls
    3. 3 X 7 of the chest machine where you bring it towards the middle
    4. 3 X 10 Ab roller. Did not extend to the max ( unable to )
    5. 3 X 20 Dips

Things i plan to work on over the next few weeks :

    1. Skipping
    2. Combinations
    3. Hands up

    SUNDAY 5/6/11

Am quite worn out. Problems and emotional stuff. Gah. I need to handle it better! Nevertheless put myself to training.

Did about 15 minutes of skipping. I started off amazing! Did about 400 skips without stopped! In the past my record was like 200? I am shocked!

Next, i did 6 rounds of 3min 30sec shadow boxing.

First round - Mainly just jabs
Second round - Jab and straight right
Third round - Jab straight right and left hook.
Fourth round - Jab, straight right, left hook and right hooks
Fifth round - everything in 4th + left uppercut
Last round - everything in 5th + right uppercut

This was mainly to improve my footwork, form and combinations.

I also made it a point to keep my hands up almost all of the time!

Also did like 70m hill sprints X 5

Did not do any conditioning today.

Also, on a side note, i think i possess a good jab which i love alot. My favourite punch is the jab too :)

    ^ haha , that's a good sign i suppose!?

Today i went to the real boxing gym.

we did 4 X 3 min rounds of shadow boxing,

bag work and defensive drills. It was really tiring!

Before i went to the boxing gym i did a 3.2km run and did about 20 pull ups in total. I need to work on my pull ups.

I can currently only do 10 pull ups.

Developing a solid jab is key to good boxing.
Now that you have one, try going up a level and hooking off the jab.

    Ok, thank you man!!

Week 2 of Boxing, Day 2.

Training today revolved around Power. We did body shots and heavy bag work, power rounds. I just realised that i am lacking quite a lot of power and hit like a girl...

My left hand is only good at jabbing. I can't seem to hook or deliever a good uppercut with my lefty. Right hand is better, but no where near good yet. I need to really work on those combos!!!

Trained yesterday, we did light sparring , physical training.

Today we did sparring with many different opponents. I think i did pretty good. Every friday is a sparring day. The last friday, my mood was really no where to be found and i was feeling empty which resulted in my standard being very low

I felt i did much better today. I moved fast, threw combos ( no uppercuts though.. ) and my hands were pretty much 60% up.

    Yipee!

Yesterday i went to the boxing gym.

We did warm up, some light sparring ( pretty uninteresting ), 3 rounds of bag work and then did some physical training.

After the lesson end, a 19 yr / 20 yr old asked me if i wanted to do some light tapping. Hell yeah! This was the most interesting part of the lesson.

It was really fun and my defense is really getting better.

I love to parry punches, weave, slip, and i like to use the shoulder roll. My jab speed is fast and i love my jab.

My right hand is good, and i'm comfortable throwing body shots, straight rights, hooks with it.

My left hand seems to be useless... I really need to work on my left hand.

It just doesn't feel right to throw an uppercut/hook with my left hand.

    Work on it!!!

    I want to fight soon!!!!!!!!

Wahahahah! Went to the boxing gym today. did some warm up ( boring ) and skipping initially...

Shadow boxed 3 rounds with 1 kg weights in the hands,

Next we each had a parnther and the parthner would carry a huge pad and keep pressuing the other guy. The other guy would wear gloves and keep punching the pad as he moved away.

    Was very tiring...VERY!

Then we did 10 mins of abs, it was insane.
