Pathinya Phumidet vs. Frengky Rohi RBR

Round 4

Phumidet is warming to Rohi's newfound vigor. They both seem to relish a bit of rough (and increasingly dirty) trench warfare. Both chopping and hooking spitefully up close. Rohi is having some moments and even when backed into a corner is pumping his arms out to keep a flurry in Phumidet's face. Rohi also daring to charge at Phumidet, winging haymakers and putting him into retreat. Phumidet mostly covers up and then responds with precise body shots once Rohi sputters to a crawl.

10-9 Phumidet, but closer, this is a real dog-fight now.

Round 5

Phumidet is letting Rohi lead the dance now, content to play the counter-puncher role. Phumidet dropping the rear foot onto the mat and spring-loading ambush right hands speared into the belly. Rohi, though, is pouring on the leather with gleeful abandon. Very game, and for stretches is backing Phumidet up and landing unanswered headhunting lashes.

Round 6

Phumidet is catching Rohi's lacrosse-stick right hands in midair with his left forearm turned horizontally and held out like a shield in front of his face, then countering with hard straight rights plugged into the guts. Phumidet is putting in some terrific body work. The crowd is chanting along with his rhythm as he tap-tap-taps Rohi up against the ropes with a triple-jab and then wallops him with huge body shots, dipping at the knees and swaying to one side to gain traction for them. Each body shot is punctuated by the crowd yelling some word in Thai.

Round 7

Phumidet is continuing to invest heavily on the body. Rohi seems to have relinquished most of the control he enjoyed in rounds 3-5. He is still throwing spirited flurries and hacking down at the neck or side/back of the head (whatever he can get a piece of, he's pretty indiscriminate and the ref fairly permissive) whenever Phumidet is up close, but this has become a body shot exhibition.

Best you could have presently for Rohi despite that strong run (if you gave him all three close rounds in a row) is being down a point, 67-66.

 

Round 8

Phumidet is resting his face on Rohi's shoulder and just whipping both fists pendulously into the hip bones. Rohi is window-wiping as he gets pressed across the ring, bringing his fists down into Phumidet's neck and head but without much leverage. Phumidet just obsessively banging that drum, almost completely eschewing head shots now.

Round 9

Phumidet is dialing in those body shots. Rohi still battling fiercely, just a step behind, forced to surrender territory and flurrying intensely but seeing most of his offense caught on the gloves and forearms. None of Phumidet's body shots being screened out; even when Rohi lowers his elbows Phumidet just smashes them aside forcefully or hooks around them.

Round 10

Phumidet isn't exactly going for a KO, but he isn't getting on his bike and protecting his certain wide lead (thank you WBC open scoring), either - he's keeping up the same ferocious body attack nearly as if he gets his jollies this way. Rohi actually has a bit left in his tank down the stretch, able to absorb the single or double blows Phumidet is loading up on and slamming into his ribs and liver area, then popping off 6- and 8-piece combos.

UD for Pathinya Phumidet, who improves to 13-0 (5). Rohi falls to 5-2-1 (1).

Now the absurd pageantry of grabbing one giant fiberboard sponsor card after the other in a hand-off assembly line (WHILE STILL WEARING BOXING GLOVES) while the ring announcer breathlessly rambles and occasionally yells "SINGSAYAT!" or "WBC" to break up a stream of dreary ululation.

 

They're showing a tape-delayed undercard bout as filler to round out the 15 minutes remaining in the Ch.7 timeslot.

I believe the "opponent" (in the blue and red) is Phum Kunmat. The guy from the home team is several inches taller.

 

Honestly at this point I'm just here for the commercials - like the one for cell phones, with the yuppie daydreaming about his fierce tranny spirit animal or whatever...or the one hawking industrial farm equipment with a bunch of dudes giving each other very dramatic thumbs-up while someone joyrides a thresher...

 

They're showing it piecemeal anyway, jumping rounds and/or showing incomplete ones.

 

This card still doesn't exist, per BR. I hallucinated it.
