He better hope that wasn't the source of Cleverly's inability to cope with Mohammedi's style. :yep

 

...as passionately as I've ever seen a fighter belt out their country's hymn. :nod

 

Round 1

Bois is jabbing and stepping forward. Mohammedi fades left and doubles a jab in past Bois' right arm. 1-2 by Bois, getting a huge reaction from the crowd although mostly blocked. Slashing left hook stepping in by Bois. Mohammedi is taking quick leans back while circling at mid-range, making Bois miss. Pecking jabs by Bois, not catching Mohammedi as he snaps in and out of a backward lean while constantly shuffling clockwise around Bois. Light jabs on the belt line by Mohammedi. Bois plants his feet and throws a jab, sailing past Mohammedi's neck as he falls under it with his neck craned, bent at just the right angle to slip. Jabs and rights shot up from a crouch by Mohammedi, circling in close. Bois jabs at his head but can't find it, Mohammedi dropping aside and putting his right arm up to deflect Bois' glove high and wide. Mohammedi brushes Bois' hairline with a soft double jab, then ducks and circles out. Big 1-2 by Bois, and some long slapping left hooks from outside - again just grazing the chest of Mohammedi as he leans away but getting a huge pop from the partisan crowd.

10-9 Mohammedi, obviously the lesser puncher but very much the ring general there and not in as much trouble as Bois' contingent was hoping on those few occasions he got nicked.

 

That is pretty much his "thing".

 

Round 2

Mohammedi is hopping to his left and jabbing up from the hip while leaned to his right. Swatting left hooks by Bois stepping in to cut the ring off as Mohammedi circles, batting him behind the head. Mohammedi complains to the ref but never stops moving, nor takes his eyes off Bois. Stiff jab by Bois stepping in, faster than Mohammedi can react to. Bois has tells for the hook and can't really touch Mohammedi when he telegraphs it, but his jab is more stealthy. We'll see if he gets wise to that. (and then if Mohammedi does, and makes necessary adjustments) Mohammedi is circling and flipping light upward backhand jabs from the hip into Bois' guard.

10-9 Bois, not changing much except that one really clean jab, but Mohammedi didn't take as many chances to get off his light point scorers.

19-19

 

Round 3

1-2 by Bois walking Mohammedi into a corner. Mohammedi is HURT!! The crowd is frothing at the mouth as one. Bois steps in with a big left hook cutting the sky over Mohammedi's head and gets tied up, smothering himself by taking excessive steps in with just the one big punch. Mohammedi navigates out to center ring and drops light combos all up and down Bois' torso from trunks to traps. Bois is loading up on 1-2s and hooks walking forward. Mohammedi is ducking everything and circling right, poking some jabs out into Bois' mouth. Light flurry by Mohammedi as he changes direction. WILD left hook by Bois, nearly spinning himself sideways as he misses with Mohammedi taking a half step back out of danger. Another wild left hook by Bois, this one thrown from a little further out and actually scraping Mohammedi on the throat as Mohammedi counters with a weak jab.

10-9 Bois...tough one, Mohammedi was very badly hurt by that right cross early but recovered instantly and then sort of clowned the overeager Bois the rest of the way...

29-28 Bois

 

Definitely fair. I was on the fence until the moment I hit "submit".

 

Round 4

Mohammedi is circling and beating Bois to the punch with the jab. Swatting hook by Bois, ducked and clipping Mohammedi on the nape of the neck. Mohammedi gestures to the ref but again keeps mindful of the golden rule ("Protect yourself at all times"). Mohammedi is jabbing up past Bois' neck and they are spinning into awkward clinches. Mohammedi is making it ugly, which favors him. Body shots by Mohammedi ducking in very low. Bois digs a hard left hook to back Mohammedi off and elicits a big cheer from the crowd.

10-9 Mohammedi, puss-tight yet again but he was never clocked as badly as in round 3 and is beginning to spoil Bois' intentions at every turn with his pesky defense...

38-38
