The Patterson who stopped Moore 6' 182 pounds vs the Jones who defeated Ruiz 6' 193 pounds?

    Who wins, why and how?

Patterson was faster in every category, better offensively and hit harder.

Jones is slightly bigger, better defensively, but I dont like his chances of seeing the final bell.

    Patterson by KO.

You think he drops Patterson at some point in the fight?

Ha, I would say there is a strong possibility of that in the early rounds. I don't think it's a question if Roy Jones win the fight, more or less does he drop Patterson in a losing effort?

Patterson was more mobile at that stage of his career, but not as fast afoot as RJ.

Jones by a TKO early, or Floyd by K.O. in 8rds.

I don't know about that, Patterson could close the distance in a blink of an eye, and didn't even need to be that close to spring with those gazelles. I can't see Jones of the Ruiz bout holding any speed advantage in this fight.

Look at Patterson in the 2nd & 3rd Ingo fights, and being bounced off the canvas in the Liston fights.

Those fights are 5-7 years after the Moore fight the thread starter asked us to consider. Patterson had slowed a bit by the 60s over injuries and still might have been faster than Jones. Meanwhile, the Patterson of the Moore fight and Jackson II looked like he could teleport around the ring.

Regarding Jones Jr pulling an Ingo or Liston, I don't see that. Roy Jones wasn't even pulling demolition jobs like that on overmatched light heavies circa 2002-2003.

You think Jones punched anywhere as hard as either of those? Patterson was down often but he got up nearly as often to win. When he went down it was most of the time due to balance issues from his style not because of his chin. IMO it is good enough to take Jones' best shots.

I was referencing Floyd's slowing in footspeed by early 60's.
