I like this match-up although I think Floyd had too many guns for Jimmy. Jimmy's classic style, quick feet, and nice jab sets up his short right to dump Floyd but I would expect him to get up and return the favor more then once and in the end stop him. Floyd by ko.

Floyd's hand speed would win the day for him...a courageous Braddock would make a fight out of it and try to box him, but Floyds combinations would take their toll on Jimmy. A battered, busted up Braddock would get rescued by the ref in the 9th round with the Cinderella Man no doubt protesting the stoppage, but he would have been trounced by Patterson.

I, too, think Floyd would have beaten him. I'm not so sure he would have stopped him, though possible for sure.

I think Patterson taking a decision is about as good a prediction as any. Braddock was rarely stopped, and even though Floyd could crack, he wasn't exactly what I'd categorize as "a devastating destroyer." In a 15 round fight, I think Patterson takes about 11 or 12 of them on the cards.
