The takeaway from this: Never trust a Swede.

With repeated viewings; my gosh I've seen it probably 50 times, I reluctantly agree that, perhaps, Floyd was passive for most of the fight and, in retrospect, don't see it as an out and out robbery. But...let's break it down shall we? The 6th round was a snoozefest until Floyd laid into him at the end. Neither fighter did anything for the first 90 seconds so how did Jimmy get this round on Valen's scorecard?
There's a photo out there of both fighters in the ring after the decision Floyd, unmarked with a bemused look on his face and Jimmy? Cuts over both eyes, broken nose bleeding, eyes closing. Jimmy was, quite simply, the Frank G. best impersonation of a human, walking, gargoyle! "We have a winner!" and the winner is?...(in H. Cossel's words) 'A bloody pulpy mess'! :)

Patterson was robbed. He was passive at times but come on, its not like Ellis was some kind of a work horse in that fight. There were times that Ellis might land more punches but Floyd would roar back and land harder shots that wiped out any effect glancing blows by Ellis had. Nevermind that Floyd was robbed of a clear knockdown in the 14th.
