Ken was Floyds best friend in the latter years of his life, they spent every day together for 3 years as greeters at Las Vegas MGM hotel .. One time i saw Ken stroll into the MGM sygnature shop to buy a green leather jacket with a lion logo on the reverse.. It was like watching a little and Large comedy act, he removed his black Jacket to try on the massive xxxl size MGM jacket and hung it up over Floyds head.. It drowned Patterson. Then he returned but needed a larger one , so he again hung the green xxx jacket over the completely immersed Patterson in leather coats.. playing along to the act Floyd kept the jackets over his head while they sent for a larger size. eventually they found a jacket to fit Kenny and all he had to do was pay for it. The last laugh was Floyds, he had palmed Kens Wallett from the 1st coat and hidden it under his own jacket.. Ken was trying to apologise to the shop owner for not having the ready cash on hand and he confusedly looked around for the missing money.. Floyd had flashed the wallet to us as he took it but was playing it out for maximum effect.. While Ken routed around for the lost wallet in the dressing room Floyd payed for Kennys new coat and left the shop.. The irony of it was amidst all of the confusion , Ken left the store with the brand new coat but lost his old black leather one in the store.. years later i was talking to the shop owner and he said they kept it and were going to ask Ken to sign it if he ever returned to MGM as a visitor. They were released as guest greeters after Tyson v Holyfied 2 , when Boxing was removed from the Hotels agenda for several years because of the horrible gang stygma it had brought , with the mini riot and gunshots inside the main building following the melee. The story always makes me laugh.. Floyd was soooo much smaller than Ken.. it was so hard to imagine them ever nearly sharing a ring ...... I do love that story.......

That is worth something. But I think it might be in part due to that Ali seldom went all out with his punches while Floyd often did. Ali could go whole fights almost without putting maximum power behind his punches. He mostly really started to punch when he wanted to get his man out of there. So his average punch wasn't heavy by any means.

But when he really delivered his money punch it was hard. Not harder than the left that Floyd sent Ingo to dreamland with, though.

At least one common oponent said that Moore hit harder than Marciano.

Interesting. But I do feel that this cast some legitimate doubt on those comparisons, though. Ask Big George :yep .

I think that Ali was more likley stylisticaly,to stop people in some ways. Moore was a pure defensive fighter while Ali was esentialy an ofensive fighter who worked on the back foot.
