Ali let a great left hooker in Henry Cooper have a free shot with a perfect left hook and still got up.

1st fight in Vegas, November 65. In Floyd's final fight in September of 72 Muhammad went to work on Floyd's eye which was damaged in the Devil Green fight in September 70. No way Floyd is going to beat Ali (unless he lands that Ingo 2 hook) which Ali is not going to let happen. That being said, both of Floyd's fights with Ali (minus the back problems/eye problems) would have went the distance with Ali winning both but (clear) rough, tough UD's.

Floyd did not hit Ali with that Ingo left hook.
Ali did not khtfo Floyd...the 1st fight was won on a tko after a kazillion punches...mostly of a light variety...were thrown by Ali.
The second fight was a cut eye tko. Ali didn't hit Floyd anywhere as hard as did Liston or Ingo,...or as hard as Jerry Quarry did, for that matter. No one is rewriting boxing history, but you're exaggerating for sure.

Fought Floyd twice those light punches khtfo Floyd.
Ok Floyd fighting for the heaveyweight champion ship of the world and hes not going to throw his best punch. If Floyd would have thrown his ingo punch he would have ko Ali.according to the logic here.
    Man thats some weird sht.

If memory serves, Patterson hurt Ingo with a body shot and Ingo backed away in a pretty straight line, where Patterson found easy pickings.

Forgive me if I don't think that Ali would have put the same "For Rent" sign on his chin that Ingo provided for Floyd.

I think Ali had issues with smaller men who could box, and speed on the inside. Looking back, you see why Frazier beat him in the 1971 match.

This is the kernel of truth in this entire thread..that Ali would have never let that monster hook of Floyd's land in the first place. That punch would have ko'ed anybody, much like Rocky's right that landed on Walcott. Truth is, Ali's defensive acumen exceeded Ingo's before he ever turned professional. He would have never let it land.

IF is indeed the key and even if Floyd could hacve landed that shot,Ali although initially hurt by it,would rebound and still stop Patterson. Let's not forget that even an exhausted Muhammad still rose from the canvas to fight back after Joe Frazier landed arguably the greatest left hook of all.
