http://www.***********.com/paul-stephen-smith-join-trainer-joe-gallagher--35202 got to have the best stable in britain by a distance.
Could be good news for Stephen this there is plenty to work on with him but also plenty of potential not sure if Paul is to set in his ways now though
yes, stephen will get top notch sparring with joe murray, crolla and even john murray, good move from smith.
after pauls last 3 performances i think this is the only way forward for him if he is to have any further success in the sport. i also think in steven's last fight against simpson there was sighns that there was no plan b in the fight. a good move for both
i know he reported that paul was at gallaghers but didn't see any mention of stephen mate, thats why i put this up, plus theres a good interview with gallagher involved.:good
apprently he broke his left hand in the 3rd round if im correct, so i will only judge stephen on his rematch with simpson..even tho i thought john nickd it to beat argubly a top 3 featherweight in europe is some achievment in your 11th pro bout:good
i agree it was a good fight and bout on your 11th pro fight but i just thought he fell into the same style as paul had done in recent fights by throwing a couple of punches then falling in and getting tied up in a scrappy fight.
He did end up falling in and making it a scrappy fight but what i would say is when his hand was ok in the first three rounds he was clearly outboxing Simpson and the rounds were clear and easy to score it was only after the break did it become scrappy and hard to score. If his hand is fully healed and it holds up i honestly feel that Smith will outbox Simpson for the clear win on the cards
