This fight is tommorow night.on sky sports one.

im looking forward to it,Youth versus experience.Pickering is pretty well experienced,he would have been a better first defence if he was a natural featherweight;but still should be a good fight.

Pickerings a bit past his sell by but i'll be impressed if Appleby gets a good win, wasn't impressed against Simpson.

This could be a very good win for Appleby, Pickering will test him.

You must be hard to impress, his first twelve round fight became youngest ever featherweight champion, scored a knockdown and won a unanimous dicision against a very tough champion.

Its a tough call Lindsey has that grit and solidness about him. Appleby looks solid but farely one dimensional and untidy.. I'd give Lindsey a tiny edge but Simpson is the best of the bunch on form.

A lopsided victory against an out of sorts champion. Having watched the development of Hamed, Brodie, Oliver, Pithie, Mullings and Scott Harrison at a similer weight I know the difference between class and the beneficiery of a fairly empty domestic list. Appleby is untidy and I think comes undone the first time he meets a decent boxer, in form who sticks to his game. Truscott-Appleby is 50-50 and as a spectator I consider Truscott to be a farely weak champion. Time will tell and i'm not biased but I don't see anything particularly special and most of the fighters i named in the list at the start of the post would have beaten appleby handily at similar stages of their career..

I agreed with all of that.

I thought Appleby looked very average against Simpson he gets caught with way too many shots at this level to be considered a genuine world class prospect.

Saying that he is still very young though.

Good i'm gladsomeone else saw that... he's got a good dig but falls in too much losing valuble punchingdistance for a break that habit is hard to get out of.

I think Appleby will blow Pickering away in 3 or 4 rounds.

To be fair, he is being matched pretty tough early in his career, much tougher than most young kids these days.

I think he will put Pickering away PDQ tonight - he has Lindsay as his mandatory which would be a good fight, and then whoever wins that one can fight the winner of Truscott vs Simpson.

His defence is awful, but maybe he will improve as he fights opposition that aren't going to fall over every time he says 'boo'.
