I have watched Lindsay & although hes a good boxer, he doesnt have the strength to keep Appleby off him. To use a scottish word, Martin is too "scrawny" to win. Applebey to win inside the distance. Too big, too strong & too skilled for the irishman. & thats not me being biased, its an honest opinion based on Applebys career so far. No-one should under-estimate Pauls win over John Simpson. That win was pretty special considering Applebys lack of experience, & the fact that his developing under the tutelage of one of the dodgiest & worst people in the game today, the hapless, hopeless Tommy Gilmour. I just pray that Frank Warren gets a hold of Appleby before Gilmour ruins his potential, like he ruined Kevin Anderson with penny pinching antics & damn fool matchmaking. If you or your family are reading chuckles, be warned!!!
not as such but there are some other factors here.At the moment martin linsey is the manadtory challenger to puals belt. However in spetember Derry matthews and some other bloke are fighting to be mandatory challenger aswell. Paul is suppose to be fighting in october/november (possibly in East ocast this time :happy ) but no opponent has been named. The other thing is that is paul linsey ot just singed with Hayemaker promotions?i cant see david hay wanting to promote/co promote a fight up in scotland .
Dunky you could also say that it was due to his matchmaking that he turned out the fighter he has.,Bear in mind paul is a featherweight and some of his most recent fight (obv exluding Simpson one) were agains either lightweights of Super feather weights.Surely this would help his power develop ...
I think the matchmaking of Appleby has been good. Better to get him in some real fights rather than to 25-0 and fought erm...... erm......
good fight that id like to see happen especially since these 2 were to fight originally in an eliminator before lindsay pulled out injured. think appleby takes this mid round stoppage.
I like the look of this fight. Two good prospects and a good belt on the line. We have a few decent match ups at the weight at the moment and some top young fighters. Personally I would like to see Simpson have a rematch, he deserves it and I think he could win his title back.
i know this was at 3:00am but that just made no sense to me. are you saying martin lindsey has signed with Hayemaker?
Yes, he was in the photo of all the Haymaker promoted fighters together standing in a line. Really not sure who wins this, I'll edge with Appleby as he has the power but this one could really go many different ways.
Martin Lindsay wins on points. Appleby makes too many basic defensive mistakes, and has no plan B, whereas Lindsay is an all round better fighter who has mixed in higher company.
IM not sure if lindsay hes mixed in higher company but hes certainly not fought anyone of simpsons standard.
