    Round 2

Simpson jabs high and fires a hard right to the body. Everything from Simpson is mean-intentioned and flying straight onto its target as though on a zipline. Big hooks to the face by Simpson as Appleby stands in and tries to get a 1-2 going. Appleby is connecting but Simpson is arching his neck to turn his head to either side, jaw pointed upward at angles to roll with the shots. WILD hook to the body by Appleby. Simpson just keeps diligently plowing away with power punches, as Appleby tries to physically shove him back. Flurry by Appleby. Right hand by Simpson. Lunging right by Appleby misses. Big exchange stepping together, landing hooks. Double right hand by Simpson! Appleby stumbles forward into him.

    20-18 Simpson

Hard right by Simpson. Appleby is ripping off the 1-2 whenever he thinks Simpson has slowed, but is cracked with a sneaky right hand every time. Appleby is landing shots, but Simpson is landing the sharper and heavier shots and always being last in every exchange (and first in about half of them). Appleby holds. Break called, and Simpson hooks as Appleby is backing up, missing badly. Flurry by Appleby. Slapping hooks to the guard by Simpson, trying to smash it down. RIGHT HAND BY APPLEBY! Caught Simpson high on the face and may have cut him by the left eye. Hook by Simpson. Wild right hand springing up from a duck by Appleby, and both men miss wild power shots throwing flat-footed from a foot apart. Jab to the body by Appleby. Right hand over the top by Simpson. Hooking flurry by Appleby. Uppercut by Simpson.

30-27 Simpson but the last two have been closer than the first.

10-9 Simpson, again. All of Appleby's offense is getting countered nicely.

Stiff jab to the face snaps Appleby's head back as he's opening up. Right hand over the top by Simpson. Left hook to the body. Appleby is starting to pick off more shots on his gloves, countering with jabs. Simpson can't land a left jab now. Hook by Appleby, staggers Simpson - or caught him off balance. Strong attack by Appleby, forcing Simpson to the ropes with hooks and rights. Uppercut by Simpson, with his back against the ropes! He drives Appleby back cross the ring. Another right uppercut by Simpson, and a left uppercut!! Appleby throws some back!!

10-9 Simpson. He just can't miss, tonight. Appleby has some very porous defence.

    Round 5

Simpson jabs Appleby in the face, then swipes with a hook to the body as Appleby leaps back. Appleby is using the ring, biding his time, being negative. Simpson stalks. HARD RIGHT HAND BY SIMPSON, opening up into a combination. Appleby dives in and tries to dig a combo to the body while bowing his head low and tucking his chin into his chest. Simpson is pushed back against the ropes but lands some beautiful uppercuts to the chin. Flurries by Appleby. Hook across the back of the head by Simpson as Appleby dives down again. Lots of whacks to the body by Appleby, staggering forward and chucking low as Simpson backs away to remove his pillar of support. Nice counter uppercut by Simpson off the ropes. Wild looping right by Appleby ducked. They tie up, very awkward. Break by Howard Foster. Uppercuts by Simpson as Appleby comes forward again. Another clinch. Jab and uppercut by Simpson, then missing a left hook to the body upon stepping too far back out of range. Right over the top, then an uppercut by Simpson, putting Appleby on the ropes. Appleby fights his way off ferociously, overhand rights and left hooks mostly buzzing across the top of Simpson's hairline as he ducks down.

    10-9 Simpson

    49-46 Simpson

Wild action, Simpson looked hurt to the body. Could be a turning point in the fight.
