Paul Appleby vs Paul Truscott

Truscott doesn't impress me really, doesn't have much power really - and I just think Appleby will have too much for him in all departments.

Late TKO or clear UD.

 

I like both fighters but Appleby edges it with his better power. He should force the stoppage mid to late.

 

Truscott has a shakey looking chin, mark my words. Good boxer though, but very immature and lacking in ring IQ. I could see some success for him early.

Appleby will be too big and powerful. Once the pace slows and he drags him into the trenches there is only one winner.

think both have good boxing ability. Appley has the power advantage but i want Truscott to win because Appleby is very cocky and thinks he's untouchable.

 

Truscott has a shaky chin? i don't know what you base that on,i think Truscotts last opponent will prove to be a decent fighter,as Akaba did,Truscott caught some big bombs off both and took them well,in a recent interview,Appleby is quoted as saying he would stop Truscott,i put this to Paul{Truscott}and he just winked and gave me a wry smile,read into that what you will.

 

Well Truscott is hardly going to admit he'd get knocked out so I wouldn't read too much

I base it on his reaction to punches, and not from great quality hitters or fighters. I think he'd be susceptible to top quality pressure too.

 

I'd love to see this fight. Like both fighters but am a big fan of Truscott but do feel at this moment he might lose, give him a bit more time though and I really think he's gonna get better and better.

 

Truscott can box, but can he FIGHT.

Appleby has shown he can do both, and as of now, must be favourite.

 

Tough one.....

After all, he has only had 12 fights but is being matched properly against guys that are capable of beating him, unlike most Brit fighters.

I see him getting to and dominating Euro level - probably too early to say whether he can get as far as world level.

He has plenty of heart, a decent chin and can punch - not a bad start IMO.

 

Would love to see this happen but what are the chances? I'd go for Truscott, think he has the steel to see him through. He's tougher than people give him credit for.

 

I must admit i'm biased,i have a vested interest in Truscott,but the lad has a good chin,he can box and does'nt mind a scrap,although again doesn't have much power,he has been sparring recently with Choi,i know you can't read a lot into sparring but,he fared really well especially at range,but even close up he matched him punch for punch and started to push him back,Choi is an absolute gentleman who had great things to say about Truscott, as did John Murray when sparring with him,will he beat Appleby? who knows,but it would be a great match-up.

 

is this fight confirmed or just speculation just now? was talking to john simpson the other day hes hoping to be nack in the ring in the next month or 2 but nothing lined up yet.
