I've a ton on Ormond at 2/1. Its a 50/50 fight for me and those odds are too generous. Ormond could steamroller him, Appleby could box Ormond lugs off. Only one way to find out.
Would depend on the trainer/manager etc....plenty time for him aint there ? That big a deal ? It could very well be.......add to the fact he has only gone 8 rounds twice and check his opponents. Certainly aint doubting Ormonds desire as am sure he would love it....same as he would fighting Broner if he had a chance am sure......that wasnt the point or question.
well that a big a deal to a fighter wanting to make a name, if hes game enough and has confidence in his ability why not ! i know his opponents and his record, but loads of fighters have went into fights never fighting 12 rounds etc and done well! Its going to be a good night!:good :happy
No way !!! But yeah i wondered about his weight given what i rec'd eg. will he be tight ? Maybe why i was thinking Paul's bodywork will be his undoing (Ormond's) Regarding peoples thoughts on Applebys last fight.....i truely only see positives there....given his time out etc Anyways :good
Yeah but not every fighter does well. Mitchell is at least European class at 135lbs. It's a big fight to take when you're an inexperienced 130lbs fighter. And not every fighter who steps up and gets beaten in those sort of fights really recovers from them. Smart move from his team in pulling him from that fight. Appleby's stell a step up, but it's in his own weight class and it's a good test for Ormond.
As said.....no rush. You would of put him in with Mitchell when it was on the table........i wouldnt off. Jesus....check me out....getting all Franky !!! Anyways, enjoy yer night......and burgers
Ormond is 13/8 to win on points http://www.oddschecker.com/boxing-mma/boxing/paul-appleby-v-stephen-ormond/winner
I think its all gonna depend on what Lindsay and Walsh took out of Appleby. When he won the young boxer of the year I think he believed his own hype. Apparently he got 100k for the Lindsey fight but it was that night he was exposed. His performance against Lareya was awful and his excuse afterwards was even worse. saying he should of got the verdict as he was infront of his own fans. He is still young though and hopefully Billy has tightend up his defence. Should be a cracking fight this one as Ormond will definitely put the pressure on early doors. Dont think this one will go the 10 rounds
Ormond has a really classy look about his style, reminds me of Lindsay in some ways. I think he's gonna show his worth tomorrow.
Nice short left hook counters are going to do some real damage to Appleby. I think Ormond will get the stoppage here, it's a big enough step up in class but he looks up to the task. Some real tough match making for Appleby considering where his career is, I suppose he's been in sink or swim fights for most of his short career so far tbf.
