Paul appleby vs Stephen Ormond

    i fancy appleby to come through some tough moments to see victory, should be a cracking fight i reckon

    I agree about the tough match making, make you wonder if they have given up on him or are extreamly confident. I would much rather have seen him in a couple of six rounders withing the next 4 months to build his confidence then look for another title fight, he is only 24. Putting him in with a good counter puncher like Ormond is a risk. Where does he go having lost 4 of his last 7 fights.

    Personally I think Ormond will pull off a fairly close but clear UD win, dont think he has quite the power to stop appleby, but he has enough to get his respect. He should be able to outwork and outland appleby.

    Ormond is a very good fighter and this fight will not be close

    Really? That seems a bit daft to me if fighter from ROI can't fight for it. Any idea why?

    Well the Republic is outside the BBBofC's jurisdiction, and the Celtic title is a BBBofC belt after all. But I suppose they can still set the criteria to allow fighters from wherever they want to fight for the belt.
