I think he could be at that level with the proper training and guidance, it's a shame he was pushed too far too soon but I suppose he will learn from it.

i know what your saying, i see loads of boxers records scrutinised on here with people saying they haven't taken any risks or they've stayed in the comfort zone fighting punch bags during their apprenticeship. i suppose you could say he was pushed too far or look at it that he took a calculated risk and took his chances. i dont know really but he will be the stronger man for it i suspect. hes a gutsy kid

This is the key....when plan A isn't working he seems to go to pieces as he doesn't appear to have a plan B, a decent trainer might be able to rectify this. I still don't think he will go much further than domestic honours, in effect he has reached his level at a very early age...I hope i'm wrong as he seems like a decent kid. :deal

Paul Appleby is a good pressure fighter just needs to sort his defence out, dont know how he gets a shot at the european title after coming back from a knockout defeat to somebody who is just on british level.

He might be a voluntary defence.....

I give him a lot of credit for taking the Lindsay fight - he could easily have padded his record with easy defences - avoid Lindsay, duck a rematch with Simpson etc etc and beat up on bantamweights.

That stoppage loss will do him more good than getting to 20-0 (14KO's) before being hammered at Euro level. At least this way he now knows his weaknesses - if he didn't already - and can learn to rectify them.

He's decent. Just not what the scots have cracked him up to be. There's big mistakes there and I did say that long before he was exposed by Lindsey. That said he's a very strong kid and obviously can mix it at a good level at a very young age. That said with financial security and a defeat at just 21 is he going to have what it takes to come back? I doubt it.... But he actually reminds me a little of a young Micheal Ayers.
