Paul Banke, among with other California WBC former champions inducted into Calif. Boxing Hall of Fame, 2008. Banke at age 42 still looks young, healthy, his smile still makes his eyes shine. It was an honor to see this great fighter, gladiator who remains humble to be honored for his achivements by the Calif. Boxing Hall of Fame. Thank you, Paul Banke for the memories of seeing you in the ring, the passion, courgeous you displayed in all your fights. You truly were a warrior we your fans to this day will never forget the joy you gave us in displaying the heart of a true champion. You truly deserve to be inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame. More so, after defending your tittle in Korea which ws not televised in the USA. Your opponent head butted you every round, hit you below the belt numerous times, closed your right eye on the 7 th round. You were fighting for life, physically hurt, stumbling. On the 12 round, after brutal 11 rounds , unjust ,unfair with only your left eye to see. You came out and knocked him with a combination, he stood up and you set him up again with with your powerful south paw combination punch, knocking him out cold. This fight is prove you have the heart of a champion, warrior, you don't quit, no matter what. Congratualtions on your induction into the Calif. Boxing Hall of Fame. Stay well, best wishes to you and your three children. Thank you for great boxing memories. Miranda
Banke was a warrior. His three fights with Daniel Zaragoza were absolute brutal battles, well worth getting if you can find a copy. He probably had no business hanging with Zaragoza, but his heart was huge.
