12th round is nip and tuck, Hamilton sticking to the outside and putting out some weak jabs and light flurries when Theophane ducks inside. Some good hooks by Theophane on the front foot. Theophane is landing the better punches but not consistently staying close or letting his hands go. Slow pressure by Theophane.

Ashley is hoisted up on his coach's shoulders after the final bell.

    The commentators are blown away.

Hamilton is surprised, very pleasantly. Jumping out of the ring and running around like mad.

Theophane just stares incredulously as his gloves are removed.

Hamilton took this on only five days' notice.

Oh, that's right, huh, Steve Williams was supposed to fight Theophane. Dang, that is pretty impressive. Good for underdog Hamilton.

Second fight in a row where Hamilton come in on very short notice and secure an upset victory. This one gets him a national title over someone who happened to be ranked at the world level. So good for him.:good
