Doesn't say much on Wiki. One of my first 'boxing' memories that, seeing Hoko on Wogan with the WBC strap.
he was in that bbc NI docu about rogan fighting skelton. he used to be trained by john breen so came in to say hello and wish rogan luck. think it said hes not really involved anymore but cant be sure about that
hoko does not get rememberd enough he was a wbc champion, and one of the top featherweights in the world in his prime, he beat steve cruz he took barry mcguians belt of him.
Didn't he deliver the K/O punch for the best note on the music on Grandstand dur da duh duh duh da duh duh da da dah dah "BOOOOOWM"
Aye, I seem to recall they showed his left hook disposing of Frenchman Guy Bellehigue. For some reason, which I've never been able to fathom, the aggressive, crisp-punching Hoko was never a draw in Liverpool. He was punch-perfect at times.
A really good fighter. I watched his career from the amateur days and I knew when I was watching him he was gonna go all the way. Surprising really that he's not remembered that much.
