    Prizefighter final FINALLY about to start. O'Kane and McDonagh on their way to the ring. Personally rooting for O'Kane, since he actually made his fights fairly exciting on his way to the final.

    Huck vs. Afolabi II is already 4 rounds deep!!

    It's looking very likely that it won't overlap at all with McCloskey vs. Corley!!

    Especially if McDonagh and O'Kane can stretch each other the distance...and then give long-winded post-fight interviews. :D

    Round 1.

    O'Kane lands a nice right at the start,and McDonagh does land a combo partway through and those are pretty much the only clean punches in the entire round. LOTS and I mean *LOTS* of mauling and clinching and shoving. Official gives both a stern tongue lashing, but that doesn't really help matters much.

    On the basis of ring generalship, i.e. fighting the type of fight they want to, I would give round one to O'Kane.

    Round 2.

    More clinching and mauling and shoving. McDonagh slaps and O'Kane swings and digs at the body, in between clinches, though punches are pretty rare to come by.:lol: About partway through, McDomagh bull charges O'Kane almost through the ropes. ****ing BRUTAL. By the end of the round, "O'Kane seems to working pretty well on the inside and McDonagh doesn't really seem keen on being there.

    Round 3. A bit more punching and a bit less shoving this round. Nice change of pace. :good. McDonagh seems to control the action a bit more from the outside, though O'Kane presses him every step of the way and throughs volleys of punches at the body. Near the end of the round, a McDonaugh punch strays low and O'Kane drops to a knee. Of course that had to happen. Point deduction. Trade of flurries and more mauling take us to the bell.

    And Eamonn O'Kane does indeed win the decision to become the new Prizefighter Supermiddleweight Champion of Ireland. Good for him.

    Now on to a main event that hopefully doesn't feature nearly as much clinching and shoving.:deal

    McCloskey is stepping in and flinging a high right jab from the hip. Corley ducks down and sticks his own right jab to the faraway target of McCloskey's body. McCloskey keeps trying to stuff his jab through Corley's arms. Quick ducks and dodges by Corley, keeping his head offline. McCloskey puts a jab up over his head. Left uppercut to the body by McCloskey, his cleanest touch yet. Right jabs up top and lefts to the body by McCloskey. Corley doubles a jab to the chin coming up from a crouch, and misses his left cross. McCloskey pushes Corley back with a blocked left. McCloskey ducks a Corley jab and comes up firing a hook, clipping Corley with it. They wrestle a bit, and McCloskey drops some face shots up close.

    Corley is circling left and trying to swing up high with a left. McCloskey stick the right jab out and spins like a compass needle as Corley beats a quick path on the outside. McCloskey lands a left to the body. Corley is landing some short counters from mid range, right hooks. BIG right hook by Corley. McCloskey tries to flurry out at him, but Corley leans back defensively and then counters with the right hook.

    McCloskey is flicking out some weak right jabs and overhand lefts. Corley keeps popping him with that right hook, and McCloskey's nose is bloodied! McCloskey jabs and misses as Corley gives him some awkward looks, slick leaning and dancing. McCloskey is snorting blood, and lunging with left hands but getting countered with right hooks. Double hook by Corley on the back foot. BIG RIGHT HOOK TO THE BODY BY CORLEY!! MCCLOSKEY IS HURT!!!!!!!!! WOBBLY!! Makes it to the bell..
